But it is unfair, because for example he included all the Ohio people for Cleveland.

And then all the Jesusland people are supposedly from Utah.

Plus a ton of solid players that would be starters in other teams:

    Scola
    Nene
    AK47
    Bogut
    Calderon
    Azubuike
    Bargnani
    Yi
    Gallinari
    Marcin
    Sefolosha
    Okur
    Biedrins
    Diaw
    Nocioni
    Dalembert

Kyle Lowry is now heads and shoulders better than Jameer, but I can't fault them for going with track record. If I wasn't a Houston fan I probably wouldn't be paying attention to Kyle Lowry's huge improvement in play this year either.

This is a great list. I've often thought about which cities produce the most NBA talent and how these "hometown" teams would fare against each other. Actually, I wish they would start something like this instead of the meaningless All-Star game--maybe have a 3-on-3 tournament of NBA guys from the same cities. I think that'd be neat to watch anyway...

On a more philosophical note (I'm heading into tl;dr territory...), I've always found it odd that professional sports teams are fueled by regional pride despite the fact that the players themselves are most likely from somewhere else. It's a stark contrast from the Olympics: every country is represented by her own countrymen/women/peoplehumanthings in a competition to see whose region produces the best athletes (or ice dancers). However, in the NBA/NFL/MLB/NHL, there obviously is little to no correlation between a city/region and the hometowns of the their team's players. That said, it is just as much a matter of pride for said city/region if their makeshift team of players win. Imagine if in the Olympics, countries could buy off athletes from other countries and every nation's collection of athletes was equally heterogeneous!

Anyway, all that to say, Utah's team should be white.

What if baseball players were thin and athletic?

International All Star vs. American All Star would be great, probably wouldn't be as lopsided as people imagine either.

What point? You were completely wrong, don't try to play it off

The NBA sorta had this idea when it first started with territorial drafts. Players could only be drafted by teams in a certain geographical area. Chamberlain was a territorial pick, which is why he played for Philly so long.
