Somehow, this doesn't pull on the same heartstrings as "never underestimate the heart of a champion", but it does offer some hope.

According to an article noted on the Hornets message board, JJ and Boki were both in town this morning and will be playing tonight.

    Hornet fans are saying:

from the TP in the articals section
Jackson and Nachbar are expected to arrive in New Orleans this morning, and Coach Byron Scott said both would play tonight.

    We need Wesley tonight.

From what I've heard today on one of the Austin sports radio stations, Wesley will play.

I just want to take back what I said about JJ. He's still a classy guy to me.

You know, as this thread unfolded, the question that kept springing to mind was:

"Does anyone actually know for a fact that JJ hasn't reported or is threatening to retire?"

I mean, talk about jumping to conclusions. Pretty typical of the GRAM, unfortunately.

Yeah i was thinking the same thing to. As well as why in the world would he not report or all these people saying they should call off the trade.

Do they not realize the backlash there would be from JJ and Boki. To get traded and be headed back. Do you think they would really want to play for us after that?

    Remember the Sean Elliot trade?

Exactly. My question about what would happen was spurred by Doc Rocket's post in the trade thread.

I would say Bill Worrel is credible, too. He brought it up only 10 times last night that Nachbar had reported while Jackson had yet to report and there was a strong possibilty that Wesley will not play tonight if Jackson does not report.

This sentiment eerily crossed my mind when I was watching the Bucks game. Weird indeed.

Wonder if that nullifies the trade. And it's very interesting to see someone like JJ who has been traded for so many times holding out.

Palilo said New Orleans won't hold up the deal. So it won't affect the Rockets for now.

Its funny that JJ gained a reputation as a pro's pro here in Houston because he had a reputation as a club house lawyer before he got here. That's not to say he wasn't a professional here because he was, its just funny that as soon as he is traded, he starts to live up to that bad rep.

yeah that is pretty funny that he did that. i wonder when he is going to come out and give his side of the story and what happened that he is so angry about and doesn't want to report. other than being on one of the worst teams in the league now.

Jim Jackson, acquired by the New Orleans Hornets in a trade announced Monday, has been suspended indefinitely for failing to report to the team.

Jackson, who plays guard and forward, was acquired by the Hornets (2-25) along with forward Bostjan Nachbar from the Houston Rockets in exchange for guard David Wesley.

The trade will not be affected by Jackson's suspension, the team said Wednesday in a news release. Nachbar was available for the Hornets' home game Wednesday night against Phoenix.

Jackson has spent time with Dallas, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Golden State, Portland, Atlanta, Cleveland, Miami and Sacramento in addition to Houston (where he signed as a free agent prior to the 2003-04 season).

He had averaged 13.3 points and 4.8 rebounds in 24 games with the Rockets this season.
