What if Jazz and Pelicans make the playoffs? Rockets are ....

    Jazz are 8th seed now. Pelicans starters miss 54 games this season and the team is fully healthy now and play great basketball. Both teams are top 4 teams in the WEST playoffs last year. During the lunch time today, all my co-workers believe that both teams will make the playoffs.

    Playoffs lock (as of January 17)
    GS - 17 wins over 0.500
    Nuggets - 15 wins over 0.500 (starters miss 66 games, fully healthy now)
    Thunders - Two top-10 players are still young. (team will be fully healthy at the end of month)
    Spurs - Pop has 69% winning percentage in the regular season in his career.
    Lakers - NBA wants more revenues and would love to see Lakers and LeBron make the playoffs.

    That leaves a playoffs spot for 4 teams.
    Blazers - 8 wins over .500. Paul Allen team almost always makes the playoffs because of depth.
    Rockets - have the best player in the nba, but MDA has 49% winning % in the regular season in his career. (playoffs also 49% winning %.)
    Clippers - unlikely to make the playoffs, but still have a chance
    Kings - unlikely to make the playoffs, and wants the best use of 11 million dollars to acquire a good player.

    This is a wake-up call.

    From 1 seed to "playoffs is not guaranteed".

    Scary!

    Nuggets starters have missed 66 games and still this good. Overachieve!

    Warriors
    Nuggets
    Thunder
    Blazers
    Rockets
    Spurs
    Clippers
    Jazz

    Lakers

    Wolves
    Pelicans

    Lakers will get back in, Clippers (or Jazz) will be out.
    Pelicans? Still on the outside looking in.

    It's mid-season and I believe the Jazz will probably maybe likely make it and the Pelicans will not.

    If LeBron misses more games I don't see the Lakers making the playoffs.
