If China backs out, they had better build a bigger wall. But even that couldn't stop David Cooperfield... We will get our man.

Yao Ming was released by the officials and his former team by written release paper. For the relevant officials to deny the effectiveness of the release paper they issued is self contradictory. Not to mention a pissed off Yao Ming will give the relevant officials a hard time. Most important of all, it's hard to believe that a released player still has any obligation to his former team and regulatory agencies. Beside, the agreement for Yao Ming to play for the Chinese national team is in verbal form(if a certain article is reliable), a goodwill kind of deal and shouldn't entitle any body the right to deprive Yao's right to play in USA. So it looks like the Chinese officials and Yao's former club have neither reasons nor power to back out of this situation.

I think we Texas will secede from the Union and declare War on China. We will call a cease fire if they give up Ming. That's just my opinion.

What if G.W. want to invade China, what if Sky is falling. Don't you have better things to worry about?

I'd probably be slightly angry, then I'd quickly find the nearest Dallas Mavericks paraphernalia store.

How about Scottie Pippen's house? Better an honorable... errr, cheating... adversary than a backstabbing traitor.
