And it still comes down to.... Defense. As amazing as their offense was, as equally or more shocking is how the Spurs completely shutdown the Heat team, especially in games 4 and 5. Personnel matter much, but the common thinking has been defense is as much to do with effort as with skill. We have a coaching and team problem when it comes to consistent 48M effort on D. (can't blame even most of it on the players when it seems the strategy is to play starters into the ground and when there is no 'you must play defense or else' altitude).
Even though it wouldn't have made much a different overall, if I was Spo and needed that offensive spark in games 3-4 I would have put beasley in. I think there was potential in that pickup that was never utilized. If Beasley had been in San Antonio Pop would have turned him into a winner.
