To look at next year's pick going to the Thunder positively. Look at the Rockets in comparison to the Nets. How close can the Rockets get to that level? If things go well it may be a wash or only moving down a few spots. If lighting strikes the Rockets could barely miss the playoffs get lucky and jump into the top 4 and the Nets could conceivably give the Rockets a top 10 pick as well. Then the Rockets have 2 top 10 picks.:D

Not sure what's sadder, the desperation-abundant Rockets sidling up to serial arsonist Kyrie,

or when he rejects them out of hand as already too damaged to bother wasting his valuable fire-setting time with....?

Seems like things are really heating up though, that's for sure.

I 100% agree. Completely overrated and lucked into the 2020 ring. His coaching had no impact on that team.

Ball is an intriguing name to hear in this. Same age as Green. Legit playmaker and potential co-lead scoring option. Actually is the kind of player you would think KPJ was if you heard some of his fans talk about him, a true combo guard who can playmake.

I could only see Charlotte trading him if they land Scoot and are high on him, but also don't think the two of them can co-exist. That is an intriguing scenario, though. One of only a few players I've heard talked about where I'd seriously consider trading a top 5 pick in this draft for him if it were up to me.

I hope they don't go for Siakam/Bridges level players if it means losing our pick. Sengun can probably become almost as good as Siakam next season given his work ethic and IQ, and I'm not sold on Bridges as a legit star, he still seems more like a really great roleplayer to me. A short hot streak toward the end of the season isn't enough to give up major assets for him.

It worries me that Stone might be GMing for his job. I hope he doesn't make any desperate trades. Would be another bad fumble by Tilman if he pushes Stone too hard to accelerate the timeline. Smacks of bad leadership--at least play your cards close to your chest in these kinds of situations. If we're going to do this the right way, we should be expecting a win total around the low 30s next season and should be making careful, calculated moves aimed toward player development. We shouldn't trade the farm for guys who are not true difference makers that we can expect to still be here and still be great 3+ years down the road.

Bridges had a good year for sure, but I find it hard to believe he is a legit franchise cornerstone..however he would be one of the few players I would consider giving Brooklyn their picks back for - especially if we manage to land Victor or Scoot this year.

I've never been impressed with Ball. Seems like a Trey Young stat stuffing on a bad team all star. I could be into any of those Toronto bigs though (and even Vanvleet at the right price).

...as for coaches, I was really hoping for Nurse but deep down I know that's likely not possible unless we managed to swing a star quickly in FA to give him more of a reason than wild youth to come here. The org has to give him a reason to be here besides the train wreck we have been for 3 years running.

For such a cancer and distraction KPJ sitting out to help the team sure seems like job security.

This team will take the relevant steps once worthwhile vets are added to the mix. Losers like Eric Gordon were never going to command the attention or respect of these young guns.

Im excited. I think the plan has been executed about as well as possible given the circumstances and Houston is always a place that will attract big names.

Yes, the problem I have is that they appear hell bent on spending the money regardless and that can be a problem.

Frank Vogel would be such a mediocre and disappointing hire

I get on Stone, but not even I could see that blockhead signing Kyrie…that would be organizational sabotage

Rockets want a top coach, draft pick, free agents, or trades but are not guaranteed to get any of the above because of how dramatically the GM and Owner have mismanaged the team's reputation and on-court assets; and the GM and Owner are the fixtures that will remain regardless.

I don't think that Kyrie is their top choice and FWIW I think he will likely re-sign with Dallas - but from what I was told, the Rockets are serious about pursuing any top level player available because they intend to take a major step forward in 2023-2024.

I personally would be fine with Harden or one of the younger players.

Pascal Siakam ... an early lottery pick at this point feels like overpaying for him. I think some of the shine has come off since the big playoff runs. I would gamble for him but an early lottery pick feels like a mismatch in price.

This same front office probably considered WOW (Wall, Oladipo, Wood) to be top available players in 2019..

    @Nook

Can you elaborate on what the reports mean when guys like Jalen and Jabari were asking for more structure?

I mean that's a good sign that guys like Jalen aren't just content with putting up high ppg and thinking that's a career but I really want to know a little bit more about what was actually said and who said it.

lol what. Siakam is a 24/8/6 player, shoots efficiently, and plays good defense. You are an idiot if you would not trade an early lottery pick for him.

I do agree with you opinions about the Head Coach Silas !
Regarding the rest of your opinions they are speculation and guess work..
I expect we will all be surprised by this offseason

I don't understand that fit. We don't need more bad shooters. I guess he's a good defensive guard.

I know I've been desperate for a back up PG but going to Suggs for that, damn that's desperate.
    I wouldn't mind trying it.

Thank you for quoting box score stats and calling me an idiot. Do you have a newsletter I can purchase? I would love to receive content like this frequently.

I haven’t kept up with him since he was drafted all the buzz around him has died down. Makes me wonder if he was a decent player or not
