Well to have a faster more uptempo offense you need great guard play. Have you guys seen Rafer and Luther try do a fastbreak?

Yes, they can play uptempo game. As a matter of fact, the 05 Rox team played a much faster pace than current team and they played it with great success.

Well, I think we need to play uptempo to unleash the full potential of each athlete. We also need to open the offense up and play passion.

Sounds good. But that would require us hiring a coach who can actually draw up a decent offensive scheme.

Yup, and so did the '03 team with Francis. I dunno why people keep talking about how Yao's slowness would not allow a faster tempo. Yao was on both those squads. Faster tempo might not allow use Yao as much on offense, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be better for the team.

I'm not sure what LA team you were watching but Kareem - up until the very end, was always very mobile. Yes, he slowed down with age, but he grew up running the floor, which was easier for hiim because he only weighed 230 lbs.

    Bad comparison.

That's the way you might remember it but the numbers don't bear it out - if anything the 05 team was slower paced:

    Pace factor (poss/48 minutes)

    04/05 HOU 88.8 (24th in the league)

    06/07 HOU 90.7 (21st in the league)

God can't make Smush Parker and Kwame Brown better... they just suck, the end.

If we could get Phil Jackson I guarentee we would be one of the best next year just with this team, we would DEF get out of 1st round. We could triangle offense it up with Battier, TMac, and Yao.

Clearly you've never heard of Wilt Chamberlain.
