Same here, and i agree I saw your favorite pal Mr. Stuenkal in Academy the other day. I simply turned and walked the other way
Lutheran High North class of 2000. Class President twice (97,98) Senior Class Athlete of the Year. Not much to brag about since my senior class was about 78 people.
Hey aries -- email me off board, we probably knew eachother or at least knew of eachother there. Michael LeBlanc went to UCONN for one year, then transferred to Villanova. After sitting out a season (I'm pretty sure), he played a few games, then the team voted him off. I don't really know why, but I can say that Michael LeBlanc was one of those players whose game didn't advance -- he was never a great shooter, and that really hurt him in college. He also had attitude issues (obviously) that hurt him.
Klein Forest class of 1991. I think we played football that year, but I can't remember who won. Old age catching up to me again.
I remember when they were first building LHN back behind my old elementary school, I thought it was a warehouse for like 3 years, then my YMCA league b-ball games were in their gym so I figured out it was a school.
Man, that was a long time ago. I was thinking the other day about what jackasses we acted like in general, and how that kind of insolence from students directed at teachers would not be tolerated any other place in the world, it's amazing that we got away with it. Remember a few of those years with the science fair, when I think we were freshmen/sophomores, where it was just an auditorium full of 14-15-16 year old guys screaming insults at teachers and actling like asses in complete chaos for 8 straight hours? That was the closest I came to actual anarchy until I saw Kathmandu last year.
Seen almost a million posts from "BIG IKE" alums. And only one from Aldine (...well now 2 countin me, I'm c/o 2000) This aint right....I know there has to be some more people here from that "BIG 'DINE" (pronounced Deeeeen, not Dine people)
man, I rue the day I picked this stupid video game dork name. I had just finished playing the original when I registered. had I been thinking I would have chosen a more obscure allusion to drive home my arrogance. Now I'm like everydork.
It looked and felt like a warehouse on the inside too. Metal building + lousy air conditioning + hot, humid Houston = very hot classrooms on second floor. Let's just say it was built with as little money spent as possible.
Okay, I graduated from B-Wood, the Buccaneers, in 1991 - but I went to 4 different schools total in four years... 9th grade - '87-'88 - Brazoswood HS, Clute-Lake Jackson, TX 10th grade - '88-'89 - Aldine MacArthur, the Generals, Aldine Mail Rt.. north Houston for 5 out of 6 of the six weeks, then back to "B-Wood" Summer School (by choice to take driver's ed there) - summer of '89 - Milton HS, the Panthers, Milton, FL 11th grade - '89-'90 - Gulf Breeze HS, the Dolphins, Gulf Breeze, FL (Pensacola area) 'til spring break, then moved again back to "B-Wood" in TX. 12th grade - '90-'91 - Finally stayed at "B-Wood" for a whole year again. Interesting side note: My class ring is from Gulf Breeze, but I had the Buccaneer from B-Wood put under the stone... In B-Wood we were 5-5, 2-7 (one game subtracted by hurricane scare), 1-9, and 1-9 (they were 1-9 2 more years after I graduated - we only beat Pearland my 11th & 12th grade years in the last game of the year) BUT>>> I was in FL at GBHS during football season in my 11th year... and there we won District and made it into the 2nd playoff week. High school stayed interesting for me. I got to meet TONS of interesting people... 2 states/4 cities... in choir and football. Hardly dated, though had several hangout friends of both genders... Met my wife in college on the 1st day of class. (in '95... went to BCC for 2 yrs. took one year off in between.)
