Ummm I was in the popular one, DUHHHH.. as if I had to tell you.. Grad of Katy High in the 90s, FOOL!! I was in the middle... didnt play sports, but had friends on the football and basketball teams that I would play pickup games with.. Wasnt popular, but was very "close" friends with some of the popular girls.. Wasnt a nerd, but I did play at my share of LAN parties.. Never messed with the stoners and band geeks...But I know now I was a nerd all along..
it's the pot calling the kettle black. if you said it's criticism of terrorists or suspicious looking men in london subways the lyrics still apply.
I guess I was in the "everyone else" category. I played one year of baseball, ran 2 years of track, and played 3 years of soccer. But because I didn't play basketball or football, I wasn't really considered a jock. And although I got along with everyone (or tried to), I don't think the popular people liked the fact that the teachers all liked me nor that I tried to be friends with everyone (especially those kids that the popular ones looked down on).
I graduated from Clear Creek. I moved down here officially in the middle of my jr. year, so I didn't really have time to get in any cliques, I just drifted from group to group.
My homeroom for 4 years was the library does that make me a nerd? I dont know what "clique" i was in, i played on the basketball team, but didnt really hang out with my teamates outside of practice and what not, just hung out with some close friends.
I moved freely among the groups. I had played football before arriving to HS and expected to do the same once there...but I had sustained a knee problem in 8th...so I wasnt quite up to par once I got to 9th. The needed a trainer(the ones that wrap ankles/knees/etc) for the varsity...so I eagerly took the position...which got me in good with the jocks/cheerleaders/drill types.... A schedule snafu landed me in ROTC my freshman year...and by the time a got around to figuring out how to fix it...I was stuck for the year...which had me in with the rotc types... I also had already developed a interest in working with audio and lighting...so I was part of the stagecrew also. Then...while still being involved with both stagecrew and football my soph year...I was introduced to pot..and did it extensively for the rest of my time there...which got me in with the stoners As a sideline to both the stagecrew part and getting stoned often...I was asked to help out some guys that played around our area in a band...which introduced me to something I continued doing up till just afew years ago...live sound mixing.. I knew people in all areas...adn got along with most of them. With that being the case...I wonder why it is I dont look back at HS with fond memories...judging by what I did whileI was there...you would think I would have had more fun.
I tried to avoid being nailed down to a clique, I guess I spent a lot of my time with people who could be considered nerds, and I was also in the band (strike two). The group in Honors classes had a little more cachet than it did some years because we had a very attractive head cheerleader among our number. I was voted most talented boy in my Senior class (and at that point I certainly wasn't very talented) I can only assume it was because I was the nominee least unpalatable to the rather large percentage of kids who really couldn't give a crap about HS. I guess the main difference is if you are in a group you consider it a group of friends, and from the outside it always looks like a clique.
i think the top is their best album. last night this super hot young bartender played that song from her ipod. i think she may have wanted a little something from this old, married guy. i don't cheat, but i appreciated the interest.
So, you were in 8th grade when I graduated. You probably know the brother of a good friend of mine...Joey Houde.
I got you beat by 3 years. Remember the good ol' days when Cy Creek and Cy Fair were the only "Cys" around. Now it seems like there are 10 other schools in that area that start with 'Cy' something or other. It's hard to keep them straight.
HS class of 86'. I was the guy in the back looking at your girlfriend, but too nervous to say anything. Oh and I was king of the bus. Perhaps you know me by my then name - Farmer Ted. I was a legend.
i was too quiet to be in any clique. very shy. very hard to make friends when you don't talk. was in science club and NHS. no sports.
I was part of the gambling crowd. If someone did something for money I was a part of it. Flipping dollars was my game of choice. Oakmont in Roseville, CA
