    1. I think the pride Cato plays with in his starting role means alot
    2. Watching the bench jump up and down when the team scores
    3. Yao smiling when he his teammates score
    4. The way the team hugs each other after wins and tough shots
    5. The top defense (IMO) in the league
    6. The ball movement lately 18 assists per game now baby! (still near the bottom but better than nothing)
    7. Yao starting to develop a scorers mentality (confidence)
    8. To know every team in the league fear playing us in the first round of the playoffs.
    9. Seeing SF trying to fit into the JVG system
    10. That were still competetive in a tight midwest conference

    11. Uniforms are nice too!

No Doubt, I woke up at 4:30am that day to watch the game (I was over seas and it was on ESPN), The Rockets sure did make it worth it to watch the game. That was a great day.

I love the new jerseys, the pjs are gone. Thankgod.

    The new arena

    Cato's improved play.

    Cat's improved play

    Jim Jackson

Geting rid of Rice and Moochie

JVG D.....but I miss our old offense.

They finally make it to the playoffs.

Being able to watch the games this season....

    1. I really appreciate Padgett's hustle and fundamentals. I wish everybody played with that much heart and brains.
    2. MJ's pass first mentality.
    3. Mo and Yao in the Hi-Lo post game has been awesome.
    4. JJ's veteran leadership.
    5. Cato totally found his niche.
    6. Emphasis on D. (thanks JVG)

    1. Getting Rid of Glen Rice

    2. Having full confidence in defense

    3. Cato's attitude

    4. MoT showing he is in real shape!

    5. Getting rid of Moochie

    6. Yao's big improving from last season

    7. JVG's desire to clear out 4 years of ISO cobwebs!

    8. Mobley and Francis being willing to work under a new coach and learn a new system

    9. Being 8 games above .500!!

    10. Being able to look forward to the season after the all star break without having to invoke complex mathematical formulas to give us a chance of making the playoffs!!

The tough 4th quarter defense that holds opponents to 15 points or less. Reminds me of the championship years.

    Yao's improvement.

Jim Jackson. His leadership as a sometime point forward and his presence in the lockerroom is a key ingredient that has been missing for years.

I'm very pleased with this team, even with the 2 steps forward- 1 & 3/4 steps backward pace.

JVG's ability to stir the pot. It keeps the players from getting too comfortably and becomming complacent.

    1. 1.Mo Taylor and his spark off the bench. IT's great having him healthy. Plus he rebounds some this year too. Overall he's been the biggest and most unexpected sweet spot for me.
      Cat's improvement

2.Steve and his improved defense, and his attempted transition from pass second to pass first, the seed is planted

3.Yao's little flashes of greatness. All in all he's doing a lot of good things and sometimes great things. There are obvious weaknesses, and flaws, but I really enjoy it when he's active, on top of his game, and aggressive.

4.I've enjoyed almost the whole season until the recent superbowl mess. That left a bad taste in my mouth, by strong games by the Rockes and Steve were a good way to bounce back. I

      5. The opportunity to have the team come together and put together some cohesive and consistent play just in time for a good playoff series.

The more yao shoots, the more score and wins with rockets. We enjoy very much as well.

I love replacing all TV dramas, suspense movies, thrillers, and comedies in one dose of Rockets. ;)

Who needs other forms of entertainment?

Without the tireless pBp'ers and op's in chat (you know who you are), I will never be able to follow Rockets games... So I must say thanks to them for bringing joy to a distant, cable-TV less fan like me.

I loved it when everyone went crazy with our win over Lakers on Christmas day. It was huge... reading the pbps and envisioning the actions unfolding... priceless.

I also loved JJ's play. Great and no-nonsense leader.

J.Jackson has been a pleasant surprise.
MoTaylor has come around, seems to be fully recovered from what I thought might be a career ending injury.
I really like JVG. Organized basketball is returning to Houston.
It was great to see Moochie moved out.
    Ming has had his moments.
The Christmas day win was a real highlight
    I like the uniforms.
    Toyota Center is beautifull
Mark Jackson's ten assists game was uplifting
Steve Francis' put back against the Wolves was stunning.
This board is the best sport's board in the country. :)

    1. motay has been VERY suprising. of all the players i figured he be least productful under a strict jvg. but... after listening to some of his halftime/post game interviews, the guy clearly has his head screwed on straight. simply unguardable ten feet and in.

    2. jj's just been a breath of fresh air. of course he has his off nights, but who doesn't. good leader, good defender, good shooter... what more can you ask of the guy?

    3. jvg. there's been so much talk to the team adjusting to jvg, but none about jvg adjusting to the team. can't help but to like to guy and i'm sure that he's had to bite his tongue... A LOT... although it may not seem like it. injuries to key players at the beginning of the season, eg problems, motay's earlier suspension, and the whole francis debacle... yet... the team seems more focused under him.

    1. Yao's 1-on-1 abilities. When we first got him, I thought the opposite would be a problem. Sure, he could always shoot over other players - but I was never sure if he'd be able to push people back in the post. He can.

    2. Mobley's adjustments. He's still not what one would call a "heady" player... but with his skills, it's now in the acceptable range. I didn't expect it - and that makes me appreciate it even more.

    3. Mo Taylor finally playing like he was always supposed to. People talk about his poor defense (which is underrated) and lack of rebounding - blah. We didn't expect him to do those things when we signed him. He's a hell of a 4th option. On a bad team, I could see this guy putting up 20ppg. He's happy about playing on a better team - even if it means less scoring. Yay!

    4. Nachbar's defense and post entry passing. If he could shoot a bit better, we'd have a real player on our hands. Last year, his defense was atrocious. Now, it's rather good. He uses his body well, seldom anticipates wrong. His biggest problem is positioning, but that'll improve. He's also the best post entry passer on the team. Sometimes I almost wonder if it'd be worth playing him more just for that reason.
