Genuine people don't have to tell everyone about their "generosity". Just do it for the good of it and don't act all high and mighty for it. It's phony.
What I've done is try to show off my deeds to as many people as possible. I post my good deeds on message boards, tweet them, put them on FaceBook, and send out emails so as many people as possible know all of the amazing good I've done. Because after all, what is the point of doing a good deed, unless you can brag about it?
Dedicated nearly thirty years to public service working in federal and state agencies primarily in casework, civil rights, and most recently research and policy. Not as active socially or politically as in my younger day though I have tried to instill a sense of social consciousness in my kids. I've always believed that some form of government service for kids between high school and college would be beneficial for all of us as a country. Military or civil service; join AmeriCorps VISTA or the Peace Corps. Learn what positive benefits our tax dollars provide. I see and hear so much anti-government bluster that it is obvious, regardless of political view, that many folks have no clue of the role and importance of strong government institutions.
I'm not trying to brag about the deeds that I've done in the past. I'm just trying to let you idiots know on this board that I have heart. It's called the law of attraction... what you put out there in the universe is what you get. Like I've said before I am blessed.
I like to get on the internet and brag to a bunch of strangers about the good things I've done to make myself feel better because it's not enough to do it without an audience. This is pathetic in every sense of the word.
Than stop asking and stop posting. I am not looking for recognition here. I responding to an inquiry. This is exactly why I stopped recruiting people from this board to do Clutch Community, another of my many benevolent acts. Because 98% of y'all want to sit back and talk smack, judge and points fingers while my wife and I try to do good for the community. We simply started this thread to get more ideas, not to be degraded.
I went vegan and try to buy American-made products. I also ride my bicycle everywhere I can. Limit child labor, slave labor, don't harm animals and reduce my carbon footprint.
I'm raising my children to be kind hard working adults and not be stupid bigots. As of right now this is my contribution to society. So far so good.
