actually it shows the defense specialist is overrated. A good player can play great defense if they want to. Both PP and RA played better defense on Kobe than Bowen and AK47.

like i said, if we had a legit 3rd scorer, i guarantee you tmac's D will shine.

PP's defense never was a topic until the playoffs when doc had to use him b/c u cannot put ray allen on the guards all the time and posey is a bench player.

the finals have told me we need mr. alexander to spend more money on a championship than getting horrible players. he needs to not be so selfish and not spending money, seems like ownership doesnt care about titles at all.

we need more money so we can get better players or spend more on good ones.

I don't think Mr. Alexander is the problem. This isn't baseball, we aren't the Yankess, and you can't just sign players over the cap.

Boston made some good trades. They were risky because they gutted their role players but paid off considering how players like Rondo and Powe stepped up.

Trades like that don't just fall in your lap every day.

That you need to be healthy to win. Unfortunately Yao's priorities lie elsewhere and his health suffers during the Rockets' season. No championship for us.

if yao is injured again next year, either yao or the rockets decide for him which is more important? if he wants to keep playing for china in every event, it's time to let him go. if not, hopefully he'll stay healthy and we'll win .

Truth is, even if he gets injured, the Rockets will not let him go. He brings in way too much money for the team to get rid of him. We can just hope he'll stay healthy. I'm not very optimistic about it though. We'll see.

Imagine if we can get a guy like Ray Allen  (Thats why I wanted Chase Budinger)

    Our big three:
Tmac/Yao/Allen (or someone similar to Allen)

    Theirs:
    Pierce/Garnett/ Allen

Our big three would >>>>>>> their big three

Its actually the opposite, Kobe is the MVP and just a hair better than Lebron to legitimately be called the best player in the world. However, just like T-mac, it is too easy for great defenses to key in on him in important games. Either render him ineffective by forcing him into bad shots or by allowing him to score and shutting down the three point shooters. Its the exact same thing that Utah does to us. To go deep into the playoffs Yao has to be the center of our offense.

yao may bring us the money from china, but seriously, does anybody in the US care about the houston rockets outside of houston? we are not getting national tv appearances as much anymore; we're not being discussed regularly on ESPN anymore... and that's a bad thing with 2 legit stars.

yao doesn't bring us that much in America. we don't sell out every road game like the lakers or boston or even the cavs, we don't sell out every home game until the winning streak -> people care more about WINNING. if you win, money will flow in.

but i'm sure china brings a lot more than we think, but from my perspective, we're not that relevant in America in terms of basketball talk.

The truth on that is if u give great offensive players the night off on defense, they will kill u in the 4th. Everyone was waiting for Kobe to explode, but because he had to play Pierce or Allen, he didn't have the same energy. When u have a non offensive threatning player like Battier, kobe rests. When he plays Bowen or even when Rondo played scared, he's resting and saving energy. If the Rox get those limited players like Battier and Alston off the floor and put them on the bench where they belong, they would be a more productive offensive team. Battier is a 25-28 min bench player on a championship team.
