There's feeling "sorry", as in feeling sorry for a child who lost their parent. And then there's feeling sorry for derrick coleman for blowing his millions. Not quite the same thing. I feel sorry for tmac because he lost what he had, but i'm not looking to tell him how much i feel for him or anything like that. Obviously he made millions and has a great life because of basketball, so it's not that kind of sorry i feel. As for working hard, a guy can't make it in the nba, even with natural talent, without working hard. Just ask Darius Miles. As much as tmac gets blasted for coasting on natural talent, it's not that literal. He doesnt just wake up on game days and show up to play, if that was the case we would have heard all kinds of crap from players and coaches about it. Let's face it, neither you or i or anyone else know how hard he worked or not. Many of us didnt follow him prior to his arrival here and none of us here live with him or anything close. We dont know. We know we saw a youtube clip where he had crappy form, yes, that's true, but one can put in hard work even with crappy form. I'm not directly blaming keith jones, all i said was i'd think they'd notice something, and that maybe they didnt speak up and maybe they did. If they didnt they deserve some blame, or maybe they did and were shut down, so then they shar no blame. They are the experts when it comes to training and sports medicine. I'm not and i can tell you anyone with scoliosis is going to develop significant muscle imbalances and those lead to improper alignment, which leads to unusual stress on the affected joints. Why Tim Grover was the first one to mention this i dont know. We dont know. No one here knows. Maybe tmac never listened to the trainers. Maybe the trainers didnt bother with him since he had his own trainer. Maybe they were scared to screw with an all-star, who knows, there's all kinds of possibilities, but the truth is this was predictable and they either didnt evaluate it continously or decided to ignore it. And i'm not a tmac apologist, im a realist who's going to see things for what they are, not for what my feelings tell me at the moment. I spoke against this trade from the begining because of his injury issues. Once he was here i supported him when i could because he was a rocket, but i still blasted him if he said something ridiculous or showed lack of effort You dont have to be for or against him to see he was doomed to fail from the start. The biggest mistake was treating him like any other player from the start. It's easy to just blame tmac, but he didnt trade himself here and he didnt give himself that fat contract.
Let me get this straight Tmac has poor work ethic because a coach he had as a teen said so? He entered the league with poor work ethic but from everything Ive heard and read (from former coaches ((NBA ONES), trainers and their clients) Tmac puts in alot of work, hes had to put in tons of work just to stay healthy enough to stay in this league.
I honestly believe he could have been better than Kobe had he had the right attitude and not been so injury prone. Sad story.
