Better defender, better passer, smarter player, takes charges, can cover 3 positions, can hit big shots that's just off the top of my head
Yeah, I can. The Jazz have defended well and they shot lights out tonight. Offensively, I think that Yao's turnovers killed us and so did missing open shots. Hell, we even missed an open layup. TMac couldn't get a rhythm going in the second half, Yao played tired and settled for fadeaways, the rest of our guys played poorly and passively
so then, we suck offensively AND defensively, and you can still defend JVG?? lol, i know you're tryin to defend him, and i dont hate the dude....I just think he's stinking right now coaching this club.....
I can't really blame the coach when the players were the reason we lost. We had some opportunities to get the lead and win, but our players decided to choke. I think he has done a decent job this series. No better or worse than Sloan. If we lose game 7, then I'm all for him not getting a new deal. I just think blaming our poor shooting and softness to physical play on the coach is stretching it a bit.
He has disappeared along with the rest of the team outside of the big 2(who disappear for stretches themselves)
Let me fill out the rest of the sentence. All he did was run plays that got open shots that were missed by half of the team he only plays.
The only issue I have with JVG is our starters looked gassed at the end of the game, they had nothing left after our run to get back in the game. But, game 7 is at home. No worries. DD
Taken the Rockets to playoffs every year except last year. This team is very close to be a contender but still lack depth.. I wish some of the bench player could play more, snyder etc.....
As tiime goes on - that trade will look worse and worse- note Battier takeing all those charges- his body will fall apart& will be old before it's time
I'm not hating Van Gundy- but what role does he play here for you??? Is Van Gundy responsible for anything here?? IMHO - He owns responsibility for helping get the players ready for a big game
But the open shots are for people who really do not want to shoot the ball hence the 3 second violations and are also mostly from 3 point land. What I would like to see more from Rafer is to go in the lane and shoot his floater or better yet finish or draw some fouls from the big men that would really help this team. Utah is leaving the lane wide open when the ball is rotated because they know no one will drive to the basket. Yao needs to do a way better job of getting position early so he does not have to dribble that is why he is turning over the ball. TMAC needs to put his back into it and score more points from the free throw line to win game 7. The role players did not have a terrible game in game 6, TMAC took some really bad shots when he absolutely did not need to. I actually like the passing in game 6 but Hayes needs to finish on his lay ups. Jeff has to do a better job at using his timeouts if he loses this game seven he should be fired. He also benched Yao when Utah made a run only problem we were getting beat in transition for perimter shots. We had four posessions down by one by the third one that is when you call a time out! All this being said I think Houston will right enough of these wrongs to win game seven in a close game.
Didn't we play 6 bad games in a row? All players' fault? 6 bad games in a row, and JVG still is a great coach. Are you kidding me? JVG need to go.
JVG has got to go. How can you have two offensive superstars, suitable role players, and still have so many sub 20 point quarters?! He has this team looking miserable and beaten down, with very little energy.
Honestly, I havent seen ANY time of play from the Rockets in this post season that looks like a contender.....just cause we play half court ball with sporadic defense does not make us a contender....
