From what I'm watching these days I think it would be a difficult task for anybody to hurt more the team than how Hill is doing. I don't want to talk about his game here, just... what happens with Thabeet? I understand we try to showcase Jordan Hill, but the team is talking about a playoffs goal at the same time, and both things start to look not too compatible. Hill is hurting the team just too much right now, and certainly, even I've given up on him, I've been very patient so far, but he shows no sign of progress, of at the least changing that attitude. We have another project (or "project") who has not had any chance so far. And precisely he's a guy who could protect the paint, or change some shots... Seriously, this is the thing that I'm disliking most from the new staff.
His option isn't picked up, he bounces around on minimum deals for a few years, then he's out of the league.
If you are trying to showcase Hill you don't do it as a center, that is just ignorant. The guy is not, nor will he EVER be, a center..... DD
Sadly, he's a very poor power forward. He has no handle, can't shoot, can't play face up, and is very lukewarm on the block. The only thing he does decent is weakside help defense at the rim. That's it.

This is the picture we will post in 5 years when we remember the dark days. Something along the lines of.... "Remember when THESE were our front line prospects? At least its not THAT bad now..."
This team is going nowhere, it is time to unleash Thabeet, and if he sucks (likely) we get a higher draft pick, if he gets better, we get a hidden gem. It is a win win scenario. DD
The point is that currently you are already hurting Hill's trade value. You probably could raise his value by sending him back to the bench and giving yourself a chance to winning games (giving him more minutes the days he's collecting good numbers). In this situation maybe you could sell him as a "backup piece of a winning team"... The current situation helps nobody. The player is also losing the little self-esteem he could have gained from the camp. And you are losing definitively another possible asset in Thabeet. Besides games. The Dalembert thing is not a excuse, you can start him and play him only the same 20 minutes but with the starters. Then put in Jordan (could compete better agianst backups), Hasheem or even Pat as a false center... What I don't understand is why Thabeet has not had any kind of opportunity. It speaks so bad about someone. Himself, or the coaching staff.
It wouldn't hurt to give the guy 8-10 minutes of play a night. Playing Thabeet also gives them the chance of playing Hill at his natural position the majority of the game.
