Both Jones and Oscar are making the team. My lineup (15):

    Cato, Jackson, Collier
    Thomas, Griffin, Ike
    Rice, Langhi, Morris
    Francis, Moochie, Jones
    Mobley, Williams, Torres.

If Mo Taylor has to occupy one of the spots, then Ike is gonezo. Why Ike? Because with the rule changes, ability to score is paramount. Langhi will have to helpout at the "4". Jones is insurance and Torres is too good.

I bet Damon asks to be waived versus being place on the IR. With Moochie signing a long term deal, what future does Damon have with the Rocks anyway? Outside of an injury to Steve or Mooch, Damon will see no PT even if he is on the roster or IR.

As a 4th guard and good shooter, Damon could expect to see some regular spot minutes, even though Steve-Cat-Mooch is clearly the guard rotation. And if one of those guys sprained an ankle, caught the flu, got ejected, etc. he could pick up some more minutes. All of that, plus a guaranteed contract and a chance to play for a playoff-caliber team, in his hometown. Its a good situation for Mr. Jones.

It's not about what Damon wants, it's about what the Rockets need. The Rockets don't have a true big guard without Torres, plain and simple.
