i agree with all but 2 points.

    1. they would gladly have cassell as a coach. they probably see him as dunleavy's replacement after next season.

    2. sterlings penny pinching wouldn't let him make a deal with the knicks. i can see a maggetty artest deal if both teams want to try for one more year to be competitive before blowing things up. maybe maggetty to phoenix for banks, #29 and #23.

I don't think Sam is head coach material. He and Avery Johnson are totally different from each other. Bad comparison.

Well the fact that he won two here in Houston pretty much kills that idea.

I was at the Clippers final game of the year. Sam Cassell was a real highlight for the Clippers. I think he was 6 of 9 shooting, and the rest of the team was off. Brand started out well, but the Clippers had a tough time making him the focal point of the offense in the second half. It was the same thing that happened in the days when the Rockets had a tough time finding Yao Ming in the post.

Maggette is awesome. I really don't understand why the Clippers have been wanting to trade him for the past couple of years. Tim Thomas got hot, but early on his defense was non-existent.

With injuries to their point guards all year I think it really hurt them. Sam has one year left on his contract. I think he could be a valuable asset to the team. If Livingston's knee recovers he will be solid.

Cat can be a contributor as well especially if he doesn't have to play extended minutes.

I mainly feel bad for Brand. It seems like he is underused with the Clippers. The guy has amazing talent.

His injury wasn't a clean one. It'd be a shame if his potential was cut short, but given his history of injuries, I'm not holding my breath for an already difficult comeback.
