He stays until he can be dealt without having to attach a ton of assets or he agrees to a buyout that Tilman can actually stomach. I don't see him playing out the remainder of his contract in Houston, but I don't think a trade is likely anytime soon either.
Wish we could move him but there’s no way without attaching serious assets, he stays, he’s a pain in the ass, we move him or buy him out next off season
I can't think of a single team we could trade him to this year. Looks like we're stuck with him. Just gotta hope he pulls a CP3 and declines his player option next year hoping to get a long-term deal.
Depends on who we draft, i think. If we get Green, Wall either has to go 6th man or gtfo. if we draft Mobley, Wall can be the tank commander for another year or two.
I for one think we need the tank commander for another season. Emoni Bates would look great next to KPJ and Jalen Green.
If we end up drafting Green or Suggs.... I'd start seriously asking what the price would. 1 FRP + 1 SRP would be my limit and would depend on the type of contract(s) we get back. Obviously the more we give up, the better the situation we should be getting back. However, waiting until he's a $45 million expiring isn't the worst thing. We have two consecutive seasons where we have our picks outright plus this years #2. We should be expecting a 3 season (including the current) of being terrible.
Are you suggesting injecting him with false memories of the past couple of seasons so he thinks himself in "grandeur" and opts out in confidence of a bigger contract?
He’s got 2 more years at the max. He will stunt player development if he gets starters minutes. He will cost too many assets to move. But…. *. No back to backs *. Play him between 20-30 min *. Trade Gordon (less costly and opens up more time for our youngsters) *. If we hold him this season he becomes a huge asset as a max expiring next season. I vote we trade Gordon, limit Wall’s minutes and hold on one more year. He’s not a cancer. We don’t have better options.
he stays on the team taking minutes away from KPJr and Green/Suggs or not giving Mobley any touches as he chucks away trying to hold onto franchise player status
Just get him on whatever Oladipo is taking that still makes him think he's worth a max contract. Who knows? Maybe he recovers, plays better, and a team deludes themselves into thinking he's what they need. I certainly didn't expect the oft-injured Hayward to opt out of his last year with the Celtics and get a $120M contract.
Wall doesn’t play back to backs and will have alot of minor injuries and soreness throughout the season. I would refuse to attach assets to move him. Let him play out his contract he’ll miss enough games to avoid hurting player development.
