It depends on the circumstances. If the Rockets get swept by a lower seeded team, or blow a big lead then Adelman is at risk. Otherwise, I think they will want to see what adding a $20 million piece(s) might do to the roster.

 

Plain and simple, if we don't get out of the first round, I will cry, take a day off from work, wear black for a month, and resort to drinking away the pain of the playoffs.

 

I don't think anything should change much. A player representing 22 million of our payroll is contributing nothing. Under those circumstances, most teams (actually, every team other than ours) would not be favored to win a first round.

I just hope stupid McGrady can rebuild my shattered faith in him next season. I mean, I want to root for the guy, but the things he does are just mind numbing. I hope he regains at least a good portion of what he lost, and that he can contribute at a high level next season.

 

We take a day to recover, take a deep breath and support the rockets until the day they cease to exist. The overall impact is minimal considering that this a just a game. I know we are all passionate fans, but at the end of the day we should be happy to have a team we love this much regardless of the outcome. I'd love to get out of the second round, but if we don't then I can still sleep at night knowing I have a team that gives me such highs and lows.

 

I would try to get the best trade possible for Yao because otherwise he could just leave us and then let McGrady's contract expire and sign up a couple of free agents and/or a 1st round pick. Ron also would be better off in a sign and trade to a veteran team in this situation. I might re-sign Luis to a slightly bigger contract and retain Landry as well. I probably would look to trade Aaron for a 1st round pick and retain Lowry. Battier can stay till the end of his contract. I would also look to re-sign Von Wafer for a 2.5-3m contract.
