He's gonna have games where the oops aren't there . As long as he can rebound and play good D I'm willing to live with Clint .

To the point of conditioning , I don't think anyone on the team is fully in shape yet . Not that that is a good excuse , just sayin

I am not sold on this , if we not going improve our speed ,to at least 10 sec offense, he will not be ready by playoff time . A few flashes here and there. Hope NeNe can keep up with speed.

Did you just mention Joel Embiid in a list of good Centers? The guy that has only played 2 games? Both he and Turner may end up being really good but let's give them a little bit more time in the league before we start making claims like that.

The emphasis on the Center position has declined drastically. NBA offenses used to be inside out and would be built around having a low post scoring presence that you could pass to and rely on either scoring or forcing a double team to open up other players. It is now built more on shooting and spacing.

Look at the 90's. If you were making a list of top 10 players it would probably be something like Jordan, Hakeem, Robinson, Malone, Ewing, Barkley, Shaq, Stockton, Pippen and Drexler. Arguable. Maybe Mutombo or Mourning or Shawn Kemp or Reggie Miller too. But regardless of who you actually put in the top 10, the majority of that list is big men, Centers and Power Forwards. Today, all those guys that you listed wouldn't be in the top 10 players in today's NBA. Cousins might be close. Besides that I don't think you could even make an argument for the other ones.

Not to overlook the importance of having someone that can protect the rim, get rebounds, set screens and finish pick and rolls- but having a dominant Center is just not nearly as important today as it used to be.
