this is so true. dmo works hard to post deep inside and nothing ever happens. even if he misses, its a good shot being so close to the basket. imo the team simply doesnt have the mentality to post or play inside out. this is why we suck on b2b. tired legs means lower fg%. so why not post? set up asik/smith/dmo/trob? but no... sigh...
whatever the case may be .. we went through a seq of like 8 possessions where we got out passes tipped for TOs or blocked on drives.. we should totally during that time tried to go to a post up with dmo, he has shown he can score a little down there why not try it out?
imo its because our passes seem to go to shooters and not dunkers. we need more dunks from our bigs. when asik has a few dunks a game, we almost always win those games.
The cherry on top of this ***** sundae performance tonight was having Beverley as the inbounds man. WTF???
They're playing exactly the way they do when we lose, trade or no trade. The PF's weren't even in the game enough to impact it. How can you play at a fastpace every night when your starters are logging heavy minutes and you basically play a 7 man rotation. McHale needs to learn from George Karl and Popovich, they play a 10 man rotation so they can sustain it game to game. They also move the ball constantly without question, it's ingrained in them, yet we have a problem with that every single game. We're just a wannabe fast-break team, that's why we get killed by the Nuggets and the Spurs who are the real deal.
Yes they have. It isn't any different. The Rockets have played 9 games since the trade... they have gone 5-4. The 9 games before the trade, the Rockets went 5-4. The exact same. The only reason you guys are getting frustrated with the Rockets right now is because they found themselves in a tight race for the playoffs all of a sudden. We were all just enjoying watching this young team play without worrying about the playoffs. Then in early to mid February, the Rockets actually moved into the 8th seed. Then we were just excited to be in that position for the next couple weeks or so. Now, we actually believe we have a chance to make the playoffs, and we don't want to see the Rockets fall from the playoff race. So now we are taking each game seriously instead of just enjoying the ride. The perspective changed in the past couple weeks. We went from "wouldn't it be awesome if the Rockets could make the playoffs?" To "WOW, they are actually in the 8th seed! Awesome!". To "They have a real shot to make the playoffs". To "They better not blow it".
Lately...our offense has been uncoordinated. I am so tired of this ISO bullcrap. I'm not going to put the blame on one person because they have been playing bad as a team, despite the wins. It seems like they are playing aimlessly. Our entire offense consists of ISO or 3 pointers.
So you're goign to look at the record and tell me because its similar they are? It is painfully obvious that the team looks lost out there with not anchor. We have had a really easy schedule compared to earlier.
You don't have to look at the record, just look at the way they lose games, it's always the same: The ball gets "sticky" Massive amounts of TO's No consistency on D, it's like a rollercoaster of effort. The D sucked when Patterson/Morris were here, and it still sucks just as bad, Patterson was no anchor, he had a sweet midrange shot. This team is not disciplined. Period.
If you really followed you wouldn't just pluck stats from the yahoo board. They are playing totally different and the quality of Ws/Ls is different. The 4 Ls before the trade were against the Nuggets, Heat, Kings and Clippers...3 of those are strong playoff teams or true contenders...all at their home. The Ls after the trade were against the Wizards, Bucks, Mavs and Suns...lotto teams with some being the worst of the worst. Not the same.
Answered it for me. Style of play is very different. Guys would take that open shot when they got it, too many passes and way more shot clock violations than before. Spacing has gotten really bad and Harden is having to create his shot a lot more.
