I argued against the bag of peanuts crowd for years. Rafer's a terrible shooter, but a good PG. And good PGs are very hard to find. Undersized gunners that have no idea how to facilitate an offense are very easy to find.

I've never said Rafer's the answer, but it's a hell of a lot easier to screw up the PG position than to upgrade it.

How many great PGs are even out there? 5? 7? They're nearly as tough a commodity as true centers.

they are all celebrating thats what happened lol. The Rafer haters are loving this trade and so am i. Im not a hater but we have 2 quick point guards now. Im loving it. penetration is the key and we have 2 guys thats great at doing that. Rafer wasn't doing that.

He's also been a total no-show in 18 of our games this year.

I hope for the best, but I really have to wonder if he's ready to run the show full time, no safety net.

I just find it ironic that fans want Rafer gone because he is a poor shooter, but the guy we picked up shoots 10% less from 3 pt range. Sure his over all FG% is slightly better than Rafer, but any team that is built around Yao needs 3pt range spacing. In other words, if you thought the fact that teams played off Rafer was a problem, that problem is likely to only get worse with Lowry.

ridiculous insinuation. in a 7 game series, in the postseason when it actually matters, billups will make mincemeat out of brooks.

Considering that Lowry will play less minutes, I'm not worried about this.

Lowry will be a pretty good fit for this team....we all see how great it is when wafer and artest attack the basket when it counts just to get the FT line....expect the same from lowry.

Maybe the Rockets think Brooks's struggles this year had to do with him worrying about being taken out of the game in favor Rafer. When he was starting, that concern wasn't there, and he played well.

Brooks owns that starting spot now. That's a huge vote of confidence the team is giving him. Hopefully he makes the best of that situation.

Actually, this season the rockets started to struggle after Rafer came back from his injury. They still let him to be starting pg may just for showcasing him.

    10 years younger as well...

I believe Morey has been targeting Lowry for quite some time. Upside cost you something. Rafer was not going to get better, Lowry could. This is how you rebuild a backcourt when you do not have any 1st round draft picks.

I liked Rafer but I preferred AB. Now I get a whole lot more of my preference.
