5% on Rotten Tomatoes. That has to be the worst rating I have seen given to any movie the past decade. He seems like a nice guy but almost all since Billy madison, happy gilmore, wedding singer, waterboy, and big daddy have been utter ****. Jack and Jill That's my Boy Spanglish Funny People Chuck and Larry I guess this is truly the final nail into the coffin of Adam Sandler's career. Definition of a sellout.
Punch Drunk Love is actually my favorite movie he is in, and you didn't even mention it. Paul Thomas Anderson ftw... (Big Daddy sucks ass...)
Adam Sandler knows his base. He's always peddled to them. He's the heir apparent to the Conservative Hollywood king Clint Eastwood.
I actually liked funny people. Grown Ups, the first one made $260 MM world wide some how despite have a 10% rotten tomato rating. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=grownups.htm
What do you mean "what happened"? Adam Sandler and his movies, other than a select few, have always been pretty horrible.
1. You obviously didn't read the reviews for this http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/jack_and_jill_2011/ Yeah that's lower than 5%. 2. You might want to remove Spanglish and Funny People from that list. I don't think it's even that arguable that those two movies are legitimately good movies and way better than "Jack and Jill", "That's my boy" and "Chuck and Larry".
Yeah the best thing that movie has going for it is the cover art. I wonder what the political leanings are of the people that see this that are 30 and older.
Jack & Jill got 3%. It still made $150 Million. The people who watch Sandler movies don't give a **** about what the critics say. As long as his movies turn profits, he will make more movies and the studios will happily let him. Sandler has been in a few dramas that were good. But the last Sandler comedy that was any good was the Wedding Singer and that came out 15 years ago.
