So this whole situation came to a head with Aaron walking off the floor. Now maybe some of the posters here can see what many of us were talking about. His ankle was more or less fine. His head was not in the game at all, and it only exacerbates his bad tendencies (overdribbling, dribbling into the teeth of the defense right under the basket and wildly tossing it back out to the top of the key where three of the other team's players are waiting to intercept it, etc).

I do feel bad for Aaron in the sense that he's stuck, stuck, stuck. He would be perfect on a team like Charlotte, like Philadelphia, playing shooting guard with 4 or 5 assists per game alongside a "2" who plays distributor.

Morey's doing what he must in trying to wait for the best deal but it's obvious that Aaron is the biggest pawn in such a game and it has really messed with his head. Aaron played his way into a good contract last year which never materialized and he obviously never got a grip. At the same time, it's asking a lot of the young man. I don't know if anyone from the organization has really sat down with Aaron and talked about all this but I doubt it. What would Morey say? "Coach liked you better than I did but even now he sees that we can't have our three best players on the floor at the same time if none of them plays defense better than my mother."

Good luck, Aaron, wherever you land. I understand the frustration. But you really screwed the pooch.

Totally agree! Some of these guys need to remember how it was back in the Rafer days. Brooks was one of the main reasons we took the Fakers to 7 games and he is still one of the better players on this team.

If we trade him now we won't get much in return and the combination of Brooks and Lowry on the floor to finish games is still our best option and Rick knows this.

Maybe you haven't been watching this year. Brooks plays one good game out of five. RA gave him all the opportunity in the world to turn things around. He played while Martin sat at the end of games. What an injustice, Martin should have been the one pissed and going to the locker room but he supported the team in spite of RA poor decision to play Brooks undeserved minutes.

Every time a player has acted up in this organization, he is soon either traded or released. I would say Aaron's days as a Rocket are numbered and he will be gone by the deadline.

This was Aarons problem the entire time in the league.

    Deron Williams vs Aaron Brooks
    Dereck Rose vs Aaron Brooks
    Jason Kidd vs Aaron Brooks
    Jason Terry vs Aaron Brooks
    Tony Parker vs Aaron Brooks

    Just to name a few.

you honestly believe that would have made a difference?!?!? The rockets were lottery bound either way! The only time they were in the playoff run was last season prior to martin with lowry-brooks-scola-landry carrying the team and playing way over their heads. Stop acting as if they would have been a great team. When they were a good team it was because of brooks, and you can't deny that. How many points martin scores or him getting upset means nothing if the rockets suck.

And the poster you replied to was talking about in general, even you should be able to realize that a player getting injured -> down in a tailspin doesn't summarize his basketball abilities or his profile as a whole.

maybe it was the incorrect use of grammar but I didn't quite fully understand your post? were you trying to name top point guards and show that brooks was a lot worse?

You do realize he may not be in the upper tier but he was our biggest mismatch most of the time and the reason we won a lot of the games we should never have been in.
