That article by Jonathan sums it for me. Rick, fans and him are not frustrated at him for his bad shooting. More so, about his attitude. He is hurting team with all this. Coach keeps showing faith and he keeps wasting his opportunities. I expect him to be a better team player, regardless of injuries/contract problems. It's not hard to accept a given role. Ace at it and then you will advance to next step.
If what I'm reading is true, this is very disappointing. How can a guy go from MIP to co-team captain to essentially quitting on his team? I really liked Brooks, but it seems like we must part ways, especially with the more consistent play of Lowry. I'd like to see more of Lee anyways, as his speed and athleticism is something we could utilize more.
remember when Gilbert Arenas faked an injury so Nick Young could start for the Wizards? Maybe AB just wanted T-Will to get some PT???? Too bad it didn't work.
The problem with Brooks is he isnt even trying to outplay just Lowry, he's trying to out do Martin as well to regain his "top dog" status. It's fairly obvious especially when Rick has Brooks, Lowry, and Martin all on the floor at the same time. This dude has a bad attitude thats growing by the day. What I thought was humor seems to have lead to anger with him. If im not mistaken, he looked like he almost lost his cool again today when one of the memphis guy foul'd him on a fast break. It was one of our players holding him back.
Morey needs to get this guy outta here ASAP I was once a big Brooks fan but this only proves he cannot handle being an adult at this point in time. Guys like this virtually eject themselves out of the league
You people in this thread are unbelievable. I'm disappointed in Brooks for what happened, but I'll still stand by him. It's easy for all of you sitting behind your computers to kick someone when he's down. When someone's going through a rough patch, you all turn on him like he's cancer. It was like this with Tmac too. Some of the fans here are the worst.
You folks need to ease up on the Brooks hate. He's a legitimate MVP candidate this season, and the most dominant player to don the red and white in years. DD
As Feigan said even if it was an injury thats no way to handle it. But it doesnt look like an injury at this point - It looks like he quit on our team. Totally totally unacceptable.
Seems as if Brooks is a bit immature at first glance. I will wait to hear what he has to say, but it is obvious something needs to be done, he lacks the same confidence as last year and personally I hope he is traded.
It's not really hard to see what happened to Brooks. Guy was averaging 20ppg and won MIP last season, and now after his ankle injury Lowry has emerged as our starting PG and taken his spot. Combine this with his current contract and his new role as a bench player and its not hard to see where his attitude is coming from.
I'm not going to argue how well Lowry is playing right now especially in comparison to Brooks, but when Brooks is at his best he's a borderline all-star talent. I just dont kno if he'll regain that poise while in a Rockets uniform. This is truly sad, hes unquestionably my favorite player in the NBA. Watched this guy grow up right in front of us...man this is sad...
"When he is at his best" he is ONLY making his outside shot. THATS IT! He brings nothing else to the team. Not a high assist guy, not a lot of steals, not good decision making, doesn't draw a lot of fouls.... All things guys with speed should be able to do. I think they try to trade him. I wouldn't be upset.
The Rockets should not reward bad behavior with playing time. Aldeman should glue his ass to the bench and call up Ish to be Lowry's backup. In fact, this should have been done weeks ago, as there was plenty of evidence of sulking on Brooks' part.
