What gives you most reason for optimism as a Rockets fan (Feb. 2023)?

Discussion in 'Houston Rockets: Game Action & Roster Moves' started by AroundTheWorld, Feb 15, 2023.

?

What gives you hope?

  1. Sengun is a pleasure to watch and can be our foundational piece, our franchise player

  2. Green has the potential to become the leading scorer in the NBA

  3. Jabari will figure it out and will become as good as Robert Horry (Big Shot Bob)

  4. We will have a much better coach and coaching staff next year

  5. We will get lucky and will draft Wemby or Scoot

  6. Harden will come back and will help lead us to the promised land

  7. For @Williamson: Josh Christopher will become the next Kobe

  8. Tari will become the best hustle player in the NBA,

  9. TyTy will be the answer at PG - his floater is unstoppable

  10. KMJ will dunk on anyone in his way

Yep, I am sceptic towards Overtime Elite's level of competition.

There are more people like that on top, the generic people like those combustible takes.

I think Rockets fans should be the most optimistic in all of sports.
I mean, most teams are capable of getting worse.
Not our Rockets. Up is the only direction left to go.
So, things are going to bet better, by default.

A bit more seriously, the coming draft and the players gaining another year of experience is reason for optimism by themselves.
But, I also think either the current coaching staff will begin to show something or they get replaced. Either way is a plus also.

I enjoy the creativity of Sengun's offensive game so much that I'm willing to ignore (sorry, I know I shouldn't) his defensive shortcomings.

But I gotta pick the Wemby/Scoot option here. What comforts me, in general, is confidence that the lottery will compensate us for our current incompetence.

Nothing. This is as hopeless as I've ever felt as a Rockets fan. I started in the 90s.

Our offense is absolutely pathetic. It starts with not having a HC

    9-days of Rockets free viewing.

Regrets, that is how this on-court product affects me. And yet. I bounce right back and rubber neck some more.

The draft and how Stone uses the cap space to acquire players via trade or free agency this offseason is what I'm looking forward to.

Alpi efforts on D. Kinda unique on this roster, eh?

I have greater hope for the May lotto than any Power Ball. And I don’t hold great hope for May…

Somehow I thought of Rommel Beck, the Mexican player, I knew he was a marginal player but the name was creative.

Back then wanted to see him play.

Would like to thank the MEME TEAM for all the efforts (and multiple laughs). Would like to start an appreciation thread, but would not like to see the team traded.

Sorted by defensive win shares. (He leads in all other advanced categories as well.) @Will

it cant get much worse... right?

I'm optimistic that after watching this sh*t show for the last 2 years - silas will get fired and we will get someone into position that knows how to be a leader...

    so i went with...
    1. We will have a much better coach and coaching staff next year

I think we've watched how lack of proper focus and accountability doesnt do crap for developing players...

So I'm hopeful that Frittata will be embarrassed by this ongoing ineptness... and pony up the $ for a real coach!

I am very optimistic that the memes will continue to be awesome and entertaining throughout the season and next. As for the Rockets, I don't know if they can get any lower. Having said that, the team has a chance to make a do-over if they replace Stone, Silas, and his staff except maybe Lucas.
