I'm assuming that a large portion of this forum has visited a Casino and made a bet of some sort during their lifetime. Obviously there are games that offer better odds than others such as Craps and Baccarat over games such as Three Card Poker, but when you visit a Casino what do you enjoy playing and why is it your game of choice?
Wow. Just went to a casino for the first time in Louisiana. Played blackjack on a 10 dollar table, dealer got 21 twice in a row when I had 20 each time. She let me win a few then proceeded to take the rest of my money, its rigged I tell ya! What shocked me is how helpful the dealers and floor people were. It was painfully obvious I didn't know what I was doing so they would tell me the rules and nuances. At one point I said "stay", the dealer smiled at me and said "no sweety, you hit" gave me another card and I won the hand.
That's because they don't make their money by turning beginner's off from gambling. They make it by giving everyone a sense that they can win big - if they just keep playing.
Unless you're counting cards even if you're playing perfect blackjack the casino still has the advantage. That's why it's okay if they help out the players on whether to hit or pass.
The number 1 thing the casino wants you to do is have fun. If you have fun, they have you over the long haul. Dealers are always very helpful to newbies. If you go in and lose because you are terrible and never come back, they have not met their goal.
Call me a girlie man, but I'm mostly a slots guy. I'm not a huge gambler to begin with and to be honest, the table games are just intimidating to me.
Craps primarily. I think it's by far the most fun and exciting game available. My wife and I love craps and lately have had quite a string of luck at it. Last August we went to L'auberge Du Lac and over 3 days ended up a total of $1,500 combined. Just a couple months ago they offered us a free night stay, so we went for one night on Valentine's Day and I finished up $500, and she finished up $400. Can't wait to go back!
A lot of people never play craps because they find it intimidating. I was the same way at first, and it can be confusing at first because there is quite a bit going on. It really isn't that complicated though once you take a few minutes studying the game. I encourage everyone to read up on the basics or watch some instructional videos and give it a shot someday. It's a blast.
Because it's just MATH is involved, I play blackjack exclusively. Also, 'cuz I don't know the rules to the other games... FAIL.
Well it looks like the two most intimidating games of baccarat and craps aren't publically favoured. The thing about craps is there is essentially only one fundamental bet so as the poster above me said it's probably the funnedt game in the casino. Personally, I hate slots. It's boring and I would rather head to the tables and control my own destiny to an extent.
