I can never understand guys like OveRRAted when it comes to discussing these games. I mean, hell, are the companies paying you guys or something? Damn man, it is not that serious. Really, who really gives a sh*t about developers in the grand scheme of things? If people like a game, they're going to play it no matter who's making it. Just chill. If your game is truly better, then I'm sure with the lowered prices and whatnot it'll win out in the end, right? hehe. what a nerd.
Here is a link I came across for NBA 2K5. If you click "Return to Review" you can see a bunch of videos as well. http://www.operationsports.com/GameScreenshots.asp?game=espnnba2005xbox&LastOrder=65&direction=next
I voted for live because I don't have an xbox, gamecube, or playstations2. It's a shame 2k5 is not pc supported because it would be nice to only pay $20. If I were to get 2k5 it would only be because of its price, cause the differences between the two don't bother me enough to get it for any other reason.
NBA Live 2005 FOR SURE! i bought 2k3...wasn't big on it. i just might buy both, cuz $20 is a bargain. but i'm buying Live the day it comes out for sure.
Do you guys play Live on the PC with a gamepad or keyboard? If you play with a gamepad do you have any recommendations on a good, solid gamepad that has one of those joysticks?
If I get a bball game this year, it will be ESPN, since it's the better game by far. And if it's really a toss up, shouldn't you just go for the cheaper option? The only Live game I've ever liked was either 94 or 95.
I played Live on the PC on a this cheap gamepad since I can't really play some of these games on the PC without one. I think it was like $14-15 or something like that. It is called an AxisPad. It seems pretty much like a PS2 controller. It has worked ok for me. They're probably better ones out there, but this one was good enough for me. Then again, it may break tomorrow for no good reason or emit radiation or something crazy like that. Doing a quick search, I see it got a 2.8/5 from one site, so take that for what it is worth.
i've played nba live the death for the past few years, well... 9 or 10 years lol.. you can't ignore the value of a brand new ps2 game for 19.99 that is a close match between a game that is 20 dollars more expensive.. i am going to hunt down ESPN this week but in the future i will be getting live... whenever my girlfriend buys it for me tee hee
I feel you... Whichever game yall get... just make sure the Houston Rockets are your team (or Orlando is completely understandable) and that you beat every team a$$ by like 25+ points... AGREED?
The All Star Weekend feature on Live looks amazing and first of its kind is the slam dunk contest. Damn seeing some of the previews makes me drool, can't wait to get it.
I would actually rather get the ESPN, but I bought it last year, and traded it. The camera angles were horrible. I was more disappointed that the game was so good, but I couldn't zoom in further. I like the baseline-low/up-down view better for rebounding and defense...
Oh for sure man..I'm always Orlando against the quicker teams, and last night I tried the new Rockets out for the first time against Dallas (my friend was Dallas). Yao dominated, Francis and Cat always dominate..I'm happy
http://xbox.ign.com/articles/551/551696p1.html a review. seems they say nba live gameplay is much better this year
it's only a "toss up" because of the price factor IMO. if you wanted the better game with all the extras, then NBA Live is your game. but if you want a cheap simple game with solid gameplay - then ESPN is it.
meh. While I would contend that it's only a toss up because of Live's and EA's name appeal, along with brand loyalty. Pretty weak, I guess I can understand it though. What are "all the extras" that aren't in ESPN?
