That's the day this comes out: Basically a niche JRPG that I really like, part of the Shin Megami Tensei series I was talking about. It will probably be the last PS2 game I play, although it could end up being my GOTY.
Dude, so am I!!! I'm still addicted to it after all these years. Whats your screename? US West/East? What channel do you usually use? Here's mine: jasonemilio_07. US East. DO IT!!
Just finished Assassins Creed, starting Drake's Fortune when the kid goes to bed. Also I have been playing Guitar Hero Aerosmith on the Wii but I dont like the songs as much.
I've beaten every FF but I couldn't get my self to finished XII. It's a huge change in story and character development I feel. There is no character development through the game, it's basically hours upon hours of politics about nations. I felt like I was watching star wars politics mixed with vagrant story gameplay. You don't really fight directly with the monsters, you set up the AI for your party and kind of just let things fly. It's very hands off and not all that exciting. Plus enemies just come up to you and starting fight, there isn't that huge epic feeling of when the screen twist and you're in battle with a huge monster. They're kind of just standing there until you run up to them. It's rather lame. But maybe thats just me, I think its the worst of any Final Fantasy. High production value does not equal fun.
RC do I need to play persona 1 and 2 to appreciate 3? Is it a continuing story line or an independent story line after each game like FF?
They're not connected at all. Well, there is a re-occuring character but he is not playable. 4 appears to be somewhat connected to 3 however.
Yeah, like dback816 said, there's no need to play P1 or P2 in order to fully enjoy P3 (or P4 for that matter). There are a few minor things which people might enjoy if they played P1 and/or P2, but they're pretty minor.
The Witcher, for PC. Download the uncensored mod, and you're good to go. It may be the only game that I immediately went back and played through again. It's different.
Right now I'm replaying FF10. Been so long since I've touched it that it's fresh to me. Kinda wanted to do that to get into the feel more for FFX-2. Near the end of Persona 3, but haven't touched it in a while. FF5 is looking at me begging me to play it as well.
FFX-2 is like watching a J-Pop music video. It's incredibly annoying. I couldn't get into it for the life of me. I enjoyed every FF up to X. I'm looking forward to FF-IV remake for the DS coming out later this month. X2- not serious, not epic, difficult to get into XI- online XII- MMORPG like Hopefully XIII is a return to form.
I did like the gameplay in X-2, although that was probably the only thing that kept me playing the game. And it didn't change my mind that the game shouldn't have been made...even though I guess it was a decent game. If I'm not mistaken, the FFX team is making FFXIII. So if you liked FFX, FFXIII might be a return to form so to speak.
The reason I bought a Wii. I've been playing 2-3 hours a day for the past week and am 47% through. It's already exceeded all my (high) expectations. The only problem is that the boss fights haven't been that challenging (yet), however have been much more enjoyable (the Wii-remote adds so much to this game). Cut-scenes are also better than Metroid Prime's and MP2: Echoes'. Easily one of the best trio of games and my all-time favorite series. Looking forward to see what Nintendo has in-store for the next Metroid time-line now that the Prime series is over/Retro Studios is disbanding.
