I was pretty set on Fallout 3, but after reading all the feedback in the Demon's Souls thread, I think I'll have to go that direction. I generally trust yours and RC's opinions gamewise. I'm really looking forward to Okami.
I'm pretty psyched about Global Agenda coming out at the beginning of next year...FPS that's also a MMORPG built on the Unreal 3 engine. Everyone keeps talking about modern warfare 2...might have to look into that one.
Picked up Uncharted 2. Seven hours in and the game is a blast. The graphics are stunning, voice acting is top notch, the only thing I didn't like is all the climbing. I didn't like the first Uncharted (played the demo), so I can't really break down the differences.
The stealth is a lot more utilized. In the first, you could maybe stealth kill one guy and then the battle was on. In this game, you can clear a room using all stealth. There are a number of places with multiple wave battles, but if you take out the first wave with stealth and don't make noise, the subsequent waves don't come. You usually have options to stealth take out the RPG guy, which makes a battle a lot easier. The hand-to-hand is still weak. The variety of gameplay is ramped up seriously from the first. The first was all tropical island. This one sees you in many different locales. The interactive cinematic experiences also keep the gameplay from gettting stale. By the end of Uncharted 1, I was getting tired of taking out a wave of enemies, moving to the next room, and fighting the same type of enemies. Even when you're fighting area after area of enemies in Uncharted 2, Naughty Dog keeps the pace of battles different.
The Uncharted 1 demo was quite bad. I thought the game was no fun at all after I played the demo. But the game itself turned out to be much better.
Even though I did the Toys R Us 2 for 3 deal, I think Im going to do the Best Buy deal as well...I just cant pass it up, specially at a time where there are so many good games coming out. As it is now, Im in the process of playing R&C: ToD, Demon's Souls, and Uncharted 2. I have Batman and NBA 2k10 from Toys R Us...I think Im going to trade in Batman for Forza. Not sure what if NBA is going to be a keeper for me. Need to decide on the 3 games Im going to get from Best Buy; I know one of them is going to be FIFA 10. Cant keep up with the madness.
So after racing a good amount in Forza, I decided to try my hand at designing a car...pretty freaking difficult given the fact that you are given basic shapes and thats pretty much all you have to go by to create a logo, picture, design, etc... Anyways, decided to make my Houston Texans car. Its a Camaro SS.
Man, I might have to try out Borderlands. I keep hearing a lot about it and it was even sold out at the Gamestop I go to. Currently about 22 chapters into Uncharted 2. Man - this thing is soooo much better than Uncharted 1 (which I thought was way overrated) it's not even funny. Unless something goes horribly, horribly wrong from here on out I think I'll have to consider this the best game on PS3. Ratchet and Clank is a must buy. After that, I have to decide between: Brutal Legend Demon's Souls Dragon Age New Super Mario Bros. Wii and whatever else I'm forgetting...
MW2 followed by L4D2. Trying to write all my grad school essays by the end of the month so I can let my life fall by the wayside once these two games drop.
Oh man, dont even know why I didnt think of that...I was going to do the current logo, lol. Yeah, I'll definitely give it a shot when I get the chance.
I finished Uncharted 2 yesterday. Blockbuster rental +2 extra days = $50 cheaper than buying it. Very good game. Nice mix of action, shooting and exploring. I wish it was a little more open and not quite so linear so you had to explore more but I understand why it is like it is.
Has anyone got Tekken 6 yet? I hear people say the online is laggy as hell. Is that true?? I was so looking forward to this game...
