DR had comprarable stats to Dream's over the years. and when they went head to head, their performances were basically even except in 95 playoff where Dream totally dominated DR. but i guess it's not so hard to convince yourself Dream was the better player. it may take a couple of Yao's total domination of Z to clear your doubt. i think Yao will do that in future. and also no way player like Najara will give Yao fits all the time, Yao'll have it figured out. that's what great players do.

Yao has way more post moves and softer touch. Most of Z's buckets come from east putbacks and guard pentration. Yao gets his buckets the hard way...

see this is more of what i am looking for...not just yao is better than z. i already know that, but i am asking why. we know yao is better but he doesn't have that much stat-wise to show that he is clearly better. does anyone agree with me there? i am only asking for a discussion about stuff like eyhab is giving.

i'm not doubting yao. i think people are taking things out of context. i hate having to preface my statements as if it is heresy to say anything that could be construed as negative against yao's future.

anyhow...i have said over and over that i think yao is better i am simply asking what exactly makes yao better when there is a lack of significant statistical difference.

jonhty...i think you made some good points and i totally agree with them. but i just had to clear up that point about me doubting yao for everyone if they havent seen that i have written that a few times.

Well, the very obvious one would be the double teams. Yao's command of the double/triple team allows for much better shots by his teammates. Something that Z certainly can't do.

Another thing is the amount of possessions available for both teams. Due to the pace of the Rockets games, Rockets players have less possessions for shooting, hence make their points more valuable in comparison to most other teams. Cleveland being one of them.
