Catapult. And that's pretty damn funny about illegal immigrants building that wall to keep illegal immigrants out. thats LoLville.
Wall may be a bit excesive. I'm not sure of the positive impact illegals have, but if there is such a positive impact, then we should also adopt a migrant worker policy by which an employer can higher Mexicans to come in for the day and work if they can demonstrate that they can not find available labor at minimum wage.
.... and how are they going to do that? Import 300 million chinese in order to drive labor costs down and make their mfg. sector more competitive? Or maybe they can invent a team of robots to clean toilets and bus tables, jobs for which no ready supply of labor exists in the US at current wages. Yeah, it's cause they're a bunch of commies....lol.
What's your point, that Mexico's economy can't do any better? Yeah you're right, they have no hope at all. Having millions of their people wanting to leave is a perfectly normal state of affairs.
I think that there is some interesting information that could help. Perhaps at the next G8 summit they could work for decent wages in all countries. Here is an important fact from NPR's marketplace program. Important Fact: Five thousand illegal immigrants were interviewed and only 5 % came to the united states because they couldnt find work. THe Illegal Migrants had jobs - onlythe Illegal Migrants made half as much in Mexico, their own country, so they came here __ The study also found that illegal Migrants pretty much come and go as they please in the United States and that manufacturing- construction and hospitality were major employers for the Illegals. Give them decent wages and don't exploit the labor market in Mexico and illegal immigration will decrease incredibly fast. Again, the point is that there are jobs in Mexico, they just don't pay well enough.
My point is that you're off chasing windmills, Don, and that your understanding of their economic problems is limited and formulaic, which I thought was pretty obvious.
