I don't have significant other...plus most people don't care if I am looking at the Rockets all of the time.

Most figure it is guy thing or that I am a little off anyway.

    Go Rockets!!!!

Mine was always fine with it until I got into the Rowdies and had to attend every game.

    C'est la vie.

one of mine exs was fine with it until i picked going to the rockets/clippers game here in la 2 seasons ago on valentines day instead of taking her to dinner.

i offered to take her to the game but she didnt want to go.

i tried explaining to her that i had been a rockets fan since i was 5 and that i've only known her for 5 months and been going out with her for the past 2 months. in terms of sheer relationship numbers she was sorely behind.

i had something set up instead afterwards for a valetines dinner the following week when everything wouldnt be so crowded but by the time that came around we were splitsville.

I would have loved to see her face when you said "I have known the Rockets a lot longer than you."

I'm in college and me and this girl were "talking." But I told her starting today my nights would be filled with Rockets games, and she couldnt take it so she ended things right there. Oh well... Rockets basketball >> that dumb b!tch

My wife also doesn't understand the obsession with sports. When we were first married, it was bloody hell to try to get to watch a game, whether it was NFL, college football, baseball, college basketball, or NBA, without her whining about it. Believe me - I have heard the old line, "I hadn't gotten to see you enough today" routine.

I am pretty eclectic on who I like in sports with the Rockets being my team in the NBA, the Red Sox in MLB, and the Broncos in the NFL. My wife knows that the Red Sox are my #1 sports team and she was actually okay with me watching the playoffs and the world series. But I think she will be livid if I tried to stay up and watch the game tonight. So, it looks like I will have to pick and choose my spots in watching the Rockets this year. Maybe eventually, she will understand my sports obsession. :p :)

I sometimes have to watch a LifeTime Movie with her to compensate. Brutal.

That's horrible. I am a girl and I can't stand to watch those movies. They have a target audience that should only include about 5 people worldwide. Bad acting bad scripts bad sets... pretty much B level everything.

As to the question, I don't have a significant other at the moment. Most of the guys I have dated were either artsy and had no concept of why I liked sports or just as into it as I am. Though most of them were football fans rather than basketball fans.

She's pretty cool with it as long as I buy beer for us to drink if I force her to watch and I have to watch the boring-ass, homoerotic UFC crap she likes. Luckily there's no hockey on Houston TV or else I'd have to watch the Rangers. It's worth it.

Thank you, my thoughts exactly. I assumed most women liked them.

I'm sorry, did you just describe your taste in sports as eclectic?

    *giggles*

This isn't a competition to see who can listen to who can own every Pink Floyd album we're talking about here.

Shannon and I are devoted Rockets fans but she hates it when I spend most of the day watching football and checking my fantasy teams.

But I would never for sit through a lifetime movie, unless it was laughably bad, in which case I slightly enjoy going MST3K on it.

You don't like UFC!? Homoerotic!? Wow. Well, ground and pound is a bit dull at times. I do like the strikes and kicks. Matt Hughes and Forrest Griffin are my favorites.

I call it the "abused woman" network. Guys are portrayed in the most negative way. I saw Oprah with her the other day, that was rough too. :D

Dude, why can't you make it a valentine dinner date with your lady and then front row nba game after, and my place after the game kind of valentines day.
