What Does Your Significant Other Think About Your Rocket Obsession?

My wife roots against the Rockets just to bug me. I ignore it and laugh when we are down and come back to win which didn't happen that much last year.

 

i got my wife on board a long time ago... she will sit right next to me for every game we go to this season, which starts with the home opener!
shes definately not on par with my obsession though.

 

Mine is OK with it until it conflicts with something she had planned. Example: Game 7 against Utah fell on the same night of a party we were supposed to attend. I bailed on her to watch the game...

She wasnt thrilled.

 

One of the reasons I'm glad I dont have one.... I dont know how anyone could deal with my sports obsessions.

 

Mine loves it, she goes to all the games with me and watches them on TV with me when we don't go.. The only thing is she likes the Pistons for some reason too, but not when we play them.

 

For better or for worse! Too much worse, like to experience some better now.

 

She likes to come to games and will schedule things around them for me. It's great.

 

Mine knows I am a die hard Rocket's fan and has learned to live with it for the past 20 yrs.

 

Mine puts up with it but hates it when they play every other night.

 

My wife and I had a few of our first dates going to Rockets games. She played basketball in high school and is almost as big a hoops fan as I am. We've got a baby on the way in a few weeks, and she helped me pick out Rockets gear for her. We're definitely making some wings and watching the game together tonight.

I've got to say my wife rules.

 

Well she sure dosn't like it very much BUT she does put up w/ it. She know's not to disturb me during any games unless its halftime of course

 

how many RPD have you dated so far?

 

Haven't gone through a season with her yet, but I'm guessing she won't take it all that well, at least at first. She doesn't get enough of me without the Rockets getting in the way. We'll see.

She hates sports in general but tolerates basketball... good thing Im not obsessed with baseball... she describes baseball as "fat guys standing around staring at each other." Cant say she's too far off to be honest. So her luke warm feeling about basketball is actually very good.

 

I got supperdupper lucky with my wife.

When we were dating, me in San Antonio and her in Denton, we had a lot of long distant phone conversations. She wasn't into sports, but during one of our conversations the Rockets were playing the Spurs. I said I don't mind talking but I'm leaving the game on and suggested she too put it on. So she did.

Guess what game she watched with me over the phone? Yep, that incredible T-Mac show of 13 in 35. She's been a Rockets fan ever since.

Yep, supperdupper lucky!

 

My boyfriend and I are both so psycho obsessed that we met over a Rockets message board and decided "you're obsessed, i'm obsessed...let's make babies."

So that's how that happened.

Let's just say, for the game opener...we're investing in face paint and throat lozenges.
