What does your handle mean and/or why did you choose it?

actually i'd tell the story again but it's much too dull and much too long


I have had a lady refuse to sell me an item on ebay because of the name. I was trying to buy a antique christning dress for my daughter at the time. I tried to tell her I didn't practice voodoo, I wasn't the pope, and as a matter of fact I had numerous questions for god when I met him IF he exists. I think that might have sealed the deal.

 

Kilgore Trout is a character that appears in a few Kurt Vonnegut novels.

Back in 96 or so, I was joining a "online" gaming thing, through hyper terminal. Well, it was some kind of role playin game using words.

Anyways. I looked around my room to figure what I would use as my name as my character. I ended up seeing an ad from a game called Uprising.

Ever since then, the name has stuck with me. I use it where ever I can. If it is taken, I am usualy Uprising3k.

Elvin Hayes did the commercials, but unless something changed, the street name is spelled "Hays". To be exact :

"1406 Haaaaaaaays Street".

I guess they couldn't find famous people named "Hays".
