i am torn really if Ron does leave the team and goes to the lakers then i am just going to go into a cave and wait for the 2011 season to start. I love Ron's toughness, leadership and on and off court antics this season. They brought a much needed aspect to the team. I wont miss his ball stopping offense, he poor shot selection and his diminished defensive skills. But if I had a choice between having Ron stay or leave I definitely would want him to stay a Rocket
Morey knows there is no use in damaging our cap for 2010 if Rockets are not going to contend next year, and the chances of us contending are pretty low.
Looks like Ron's brother is trying to get Ron to sign with Cleveland I would support that if Ron goes east it would be fun to watch. on a side note I do like that Morey is willing to sacrifice one season for the greater good in the future I would not want the rockets to mortgage 4-5 years for the sake of giving Ron a huge contract. Wish Ron the best (unless its in LA)
Offering a 1 year contract make it his fault, we are basically saying we dont want you here! If Gordon got 11 mil a year for 5 years, Ron is at least worth 8 to 9 mils for like 4 years. As least try to do a sign and trade so we can get something for him.
there's nothing that matches an MLE contract on the cavs roster. i think we're just going to have to let him walk. here's the bright side. the 2 first round picks that we traded for ron are basically replaced by the 3 second round choices which offer greater cap flexibility and probably not that much worse potential. also, replacing von with gortat (hopefully) would be a good move.
Just because one player was overpaid doesn't mean you overpay another. Look at the trend, folks. Every player the Rockets are rumored to want has one thing in common, they are young players. What does that tell us? It tells us that the Rockets see the writing on the wall, and the win now strategy has been replaced with the championship later strategy.
Did you guys see this? Feigen doesn't seem to think he's gone, yet... http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6507729.html
I'm okay with Ron leaving. Not happy about it but I respect him. He lead us to the 2nd round. I will always be thankful for that. But PLEASE Ron. I beg you. DO NOT GO TO THE LA LAKERS. I HATE THEM. I LOVE YOU. THAT WONT WORK GO TO THE CAVS. GO TO THE KNICKS. HELL GO TO THE THUNDER. DONT GO TO THE LAKERS
But you are a smart poster who easily understands this. An S&T is a 3-way dance. A place Artest wants to go, a team that wants him and players the Rockets think will be better than what they could get with the 2010 cap space Artest would have eaten up.
"I'm signing my new deal as I'm Twittin'.." Artest So he drove to Vegas from LA... so I guess it's Artest to Lakers OR Clippers
"I'm Sooo Happy (Tears comin' Down My Face.)" Fk you Ron Ron. Either post who you signed with or stop rubbing it in.
