good gawd some of you guys are too hung up on his height, like if he's a quarter of an inch lower then a certain height then no way he's a legit PF.

His height is fine. It's not like other teams have 7'6 bigs that causes matchup problems for him.

    Sheesh.

Good point. At least Landry has incredible leaping ability. His "goaltend" on Tim Duncan showed that. I can see this guy as a poor man's version of Chris Webber. Both have the athleticism, the strength, the outside jump shot, and the bball IQ to fit right into Adelman's system.

It has nothing to do with actual measurements. Chuck Hayes is 6'6", but he's immovable in the post and can guard the strongest (or quickest) power forwards. Landry just doesn't play big.

The dude can get up. The weakside smach of Duncan's jump hook caught the refs off guard and that's why they called goal tending. As Sikma was quote "this dude is killing in practice and we need to find him time on the court".

I guess you didn't see the posts arguing Landry's height down to the quarter of an inch AND with shoes or without shoes. Next argument will be body fat before a meal and after a meal.

    Talk about minutiae.

And unless Landry matches up against Shaq, I don't think he'll be overpowered or outquicked like everyone is fretting about. More then likely it's rookie screwups that will be his defensive shortcomings.

LOL. Landry just grabs a rebound on Tim Duncan and slam dunks the ball in his face, but he doesn't play big. What is your definition of playing big.

That just means that he's athletic, which he certainly is. He didn't box Duncan out, he slipped in and stole the rebound. When he was put in the New Orleans game, he got good defensive post position on David West, and West backed him into the paint with no trouble whatsoever.

Again, I like Landry, but his success depends on him developing his outside game and backing up both forward positions.

The man can finish in the pain and draws fouls. That's what this team needs. Better at drawing fouls even then Scola. Scola twists so much he doesn't get fouled or the calls. Carl goes right in and forces the foul.

Weslinder, Landry is not a 3 and never will be, if you watched him in college and now he is a 4 and he doesn't play big, he plays huge. He is also one of the strongest guys on the court and by the way David West was unguardable in that game no matter who they put on him. He's probably got one of the best mid-range shots on the team. He's a rookie and it takes time.

We didn't see enough of Landry on West. West was torching both Hayes and Scola with his faceup game. We shoulda went to Landry in the 2nd half. It was obvious the other two couldn't hang with him.

Actually I think he's a better man's version of Chris Webber. Who in their right mind would want a washed up Chris Webber at this point?

I think he will be borderline starter or a very good backup. On court, he's shown energy, some attitude, and the ability to finish around the rim in short amount of playing time. He really needs more minutes to really prove himself but Adelman is doing a good job of slowly giving him minutes.

I'm at work and have only been following the game off and on, but has Landry played in the second half at all?
