    Rick Adelman...
    Clyde Drexler?
    Hakeem?
I think Drexler could be a good coach, or am i just way off on that one?

Drexler is a MUCH better commentator than coach.

If he couldn't cut it as the UH Men's BBall coach, what makes you think he can cut it as an NBA coach?

I think with a healthy Rockets team, we have enough talent to get to the 2nd round, even with a mediocore coach.

If JVG is a good coach that can bring out the max potential of the players and have everyone on this team do their best thing, we can easily get to the conference finals.

Therefore, I would say that JVG is a:

    1) bad coach if we can't even get to the 2nd round
    2) average coach if we can to the second round
    3) good coach if we can get to the conference finals

JVG won't be fired though, at least not this season. As long as we get to the playoffs, our management will be happy enough since they'll only look back at last year. Sigh..

So, that means about 77% of the posters believe the 2nd round is enough.

even if the Rockets go to the freaking WCF, we have seen that it has so much more to do with T-Mac and Yao than anything that JVG has done. so anything short of a championship won't change my view of trying to get a better coach next season. and better coaches are out there.

    I agree.
Larry Brown will depress the young men in the same way as JVG. Milicic is the example.
But he did make use of the starters. Still better than our present coach. :(

JVG is a brilliant coach. His plan is to have us lose so that we'll play Utah in Round 1 and then sweep them, then Phoenix in Round 2 and sweep them, and hope SA puts up a fight vs Dallas in 7 so we can sweep dallas, and then sweep the finals. 6 seed please.

JVG needs to give LES a BJ to keep his job unless Les is gay and then JVG needs to act like he is enjoying it when Les is giving him one!

Okay that was a joke I hope you have a sense of humor!

Exactly, no other option but him. At least he has the respect of the team. His philosphy is pissing me off but we have to make due.

JVG is not a perfect coach IMO, but we don't have any better choices for the time being, just like the problem of Rafer.

You're lucky you have a sixth sense. People don't see the way you see things. You should start a coaching career instead of posting comments here.

He wasn't outcoached. The players simply didn't have energy and they look tired.
