What a great night that was! Everyone was so cool with one another. I was out there until the wee hours of the morning and people were still celebrating. The whole Galleria area was a parking lot of cars honking, flashing lights, of high fives between random strangers of all ages and races.....it was the best of times in Houston. I often wonder if it would be like that today.

What I wouldn't give to have my reactions on tape somewhere.

Unfortunately, my parents weren't real big on taking pictures, and have still never owned a camcorder.

I'd mostly want to hear my commentary. I feel like I knew the game pretty well, even at that age (12/13), but I'm sure I said some really dumb things too.

I went to the first championship parade. It was awesome.

Anyone remember the parade route? That picture looks like it was taken in front of the Pappas BBQ garage, and the 1100 Louisiana building. (Enterprise building?)
You can also see the Hyatt.

I couldn't go to the second parade, because I was in school, in June. Stupid year round experiment.

'94 was at the 19th Hole

'95 was at Rookies before it sucked.

I do wonder how things would look now.

But I think it would be awesome to have some giant screens at Discovery Green showing the game. It would be crowded as ****, but totally worth it.

Imagine a nice muggy 90 degree night with the Rockets in the Finals.

Right on... yeah, Rookies got weird. I can walk to both of those places from my house.

I was in Australia for both Rockets championships, and had to watch them on time delay.

I did get to live out a dream and see my Aussie rules team win a title in 2006. I was at the game atte Melbourne Cricket Ground, with a crowd or around 100,000. My team, the West Coast EAgles, got home by a solitary point.

The first video was shot by me with a phone, the second one is just the last 5 minutes of the broadcast, for those inclined.

Brings a tear to the eye watching those videos again :)

I was actually in New York in '94 for the car chase and the epic Game 7, and at a house party in Humble when we swept in '95...

when your city wins a championship, there is no other feeling like it and we are all trying to get back to that glorious place...

for fans of that era, the Rockets will always be Champions. they are part of an elite fraternity. it is evident every night on TNT when Charles and Kenny wax nostalgic about the days of yesteryear.

It's like a "you had to be there" feeling.

The Rockets were so special to me. My Dad was an original season ticket holder. Got them the year they moved from San Diego. Throughout my childhood, going to Rocket games on the weekends with him have been some of my most cherished memories. I can't even explain how amazing it was when they finally broke through and did it.

94 - I was driving from Tomball to Huntsville on the way back from a rehearsal. Doing about 110 in my little Mazda truck. Who the **** schedules a rehearsal the same night as Game 7? It was summer school at SHSU, so none of my friends were in town. I got home just in time to see Mad Max's shot. Like someone else said, I celebrated like Hakeem did. No yelling, no screaming...just watching and taking it all in - with a few tears running down my cheek.

95 - Me and a bunch of friends rented the banquet room at a restaurant in Huntsville for Game 4. We weren't going to make the same mistake as the previous year. This time we were going to party! And party, we did...

Watching the team for the last few years...I sometimes wonder if it will ever be like that again. Even if we DO win a championship, I doubt it will be as special as those 1st 2. Maybe it has something to do with getting older.

My Sooners won it in 2000. It was great, but did it offer long lasting fulfillment? Not a chance.
