I hope you are wrong b/c these two are signed up for years to come.

But like the Great Ones (Hakeem, MJ, Barkley), they got to iron out their weaknesses. It's just frustrating with these guys!!!!!

I don't think anybody here truly hates Francis personally. It is just the way he has played versus what he could really be if he becomes the consumate play-maker/leader...the sky is the limit...the pocket Magic Johnson with more hops and athleticism... it FRUSTRATES everyone here in the BBS!!!

On another matter, I'm just wondering if this BBS was around in the 80s, I wonder how much sh*t, would people be piling on Hakeem before he became the Player he ws in the 90s. Sure, they making the play-offs but it reminds me how Garnett can't get out of the first round for 5 straight years running.

I'd imagine we'd be analyzing every thing he did a lot more than Francis is now ?

francis is suppose to lead. he's suppose to direct. more often than not he does neither of those. when he's having a bad shooting night he should be able to recognize that. too many times late in the game he never calls a play or directs his teammates where to go. instead, he dribbles the ball with 10 seconds left and tells everyone to get out the way so he can go iso. WTF is that!?

He'll never have the vision of Magic. ****, he might never have the vision of Bones. You are born with that trait, you don't acquire it through practice.

two things that fustrate me most (besides what i've mentioned previously) are that francis couldn't run a fast break to save his life. even if verne troyer himself was under the basket, francis would find a way to screw it up. the second is he doesn't know how to pick and roll. why is it so freaking hard to dish the ball off to the roller when his defender comes to double-team you? every time i see francis do a pick and roll he'll hold on to the ball and dribble, dribble, dribble while his teammate is wide open. everyone knows what i'm talking about. how do you think stockton gets so many assists and malone always scores? b/c stockton passes the freakin ball out of the pick and roll.

I am the leading critic of Steve Francis. When Francis was speaking prior to his first game as a Rocket, he indicated that he expected to top the NBA Rankings in Assists.
Although Steve Francis shows signs of being a great player, he is not a great Point Guard. He doesnt make his team mates better. He would rather score points than see someone else do it! He often drives into the tall trees surrounding and under the basket but hardly ever plans a pass off to an open man, coming towards the basket, from the undefended side. Most times in this situation he makes the bad decission to throw it up or away, causing a turnover. He gets into personal offensive duals with the oppositions Point Guard, thus loosing concentration upon the fact that he is playing a Team Game. The big problem for him is that his Coach has not realised he is a Shooting Guard! Besides this, the Coach has not enforced correction of Steves repeated mistakes!

Actually those bad nights are becoming way to common. Steve is not a PG period. Steve is a great shooting guard, that is where he belongs.

So when will Houston bring in Jason Williams (move Francis to SG and Mobley to the bench)?

Seriously, Jason Williams is the best ball-handler and one of the top distributors in the league.

Isn't Williams shooting under40%? Or are we talking about different JWs? I can't stand the JW in Memphis.

I'll forward your dislike of Jason Williams to Dawson, Steve.

Like him or not -- and for the record, I like Jason Williams' game -- he would be a huge improvement at PG.
