no, it's when and how those Titans wins occurred (and the context of their rebulidng program) that puts them way ahead of the hapless Texans. Ahh, the transitive property. Too bad the Titans beat the colts too.
You failed to mention that the Titans home is Tennessee and their fans have sex with their own siblings. That puts them below the Texans.
Sorry but Tennesseeans cannot be below Texas because Tennessee is above Texas. Texas is below everybody in the contental US save parts of South Florida. But at least they are above Guyanans, Cubans, Chileans, and Falkand Islanders GO TEXANS!
Of course, the difference being that most people think the Titans are better than their record, since they started out 0-5 (0-3 with a different QB) and ended 8-3. The same can't be said for the Texans, who improved on defense and regressed on offense as the season went by.
I'm not arguing that the Titans aren't in a better position than the Texans currently. However, the Texans finished the season pretty competitively sans the Jets and Patriots games. I could also argue that the Titans had the breaks fall their way during the season in a similar fashion as the breaks that didn't fall the Texans way. I actually don't put too much stock into that, but I think it is some evidence that they're not light years apart. Also, remember how everyone loved the second half of Sage Rosenfels? If it's that easy to turn this offense around, who knows how good it could be next season without Carr.
Oh I agree the Texans could improve dramatically next year - if the right decisions are made. That's a big if. The offense has more talent than people give it credit for, and the defense improved by leaps and bounds and is far better than Tennessee's. The big difference to me right now is that the Titans DID show significant improvement (in my opinion) while the Texans COULD. I'm not a big believer that it takes years and years to turn around an NFL team. There are just so many situations year after year where bottomdwellers go the playoffs and back to bottomdwelling or vice-versa.
I wasn't relating the two, nor was I arguing that the Texans were better than the Titans. My *only* point was that the closeness of that one game was just as real as the win the Texans had over the Colts.
