do you like the texans enough to pay for their broadcast?

I have sirius radio and i love it. it has all the NFL games, plus the music/news/etc are great too. you can also bring it home as well as in your car.

Yes, I do. Unfortunately, the last thing I need is another bill.

well, at least you can catch the Texans when they play the Titans or Cowboys.
maybe you can listen on the internet through 610's website.

I think they have their mind made up on Carr, he's gone. Trade Carr for a 4th that can become a 3rd with plaing time. See what Thomas Jones will cost you. If its a 2nd or 3rd think about it hardly. Go after Nate Clements 1st, Terdell Sands next, draft Landry in the 1st rd and Merriweather in the 2nd. I think Sage will be given a chance to win this job. Before last season, there was a so called chance of van pelt replacing plummer. Look for anyone versed with either denver ties or in the west coast offense for a qb. Forget about Shuab he might be Rob Jonhson or Scott Mitchell part 2

    I agree wholeheartedly.

Had Tony Bocelli & another OL(I forget his name) panned out from the restock draft, drafting a QB with the #1 pick in the college draft would of worked. Since we were left with a sieve for an OL, Carr's main objective became self preservation.

Drafting another QB to put behind this OL will yield simular results to Carr. I do think we need to trade Carr. He will be at least a good NFL QB behind a good line.

If there is a can't miss pass rushing DE we should go for it. Good pass rushers on your defensive front four helps make up for weaknesses in the linebacking and secondary corps. Weaver, Mario, and a stud rookie pass rusher would exponentially improve the Texan's pass rush and therefore overall defense.

In the 2nd thru 4th rounds we should take the best player available at any positions other than WR, TE, QB, RB, Kicker or Punter.

5 thru 7 we should take best player available.

If we are going to be a playoff football team we have to build up from the trenches out. Our defensive and offensive lines are still bad, but both are only a player or 2 away from being good. Secondary must be improved. Our receiving corp is good. Linebacking is adequate.

I wouldn't waste time on a stop-gap qb. I would only trade Carr if someone would give us a high 3rd or better draft pick (not likely). If they did I would sign a journeyman like Plummer to hold us over and use the extra pick on a QB project. If we can't get a decent pick for Carr we should just let Sage and he fight it out and turn our attention to the offesive and defensive lines.

We can live another year with running back by committee. If we improve the offensive line (or it just stays healthy!) our running game will improve and Carr will be able to run more play action which he is decent at. Secondary would be a great place to spend FA money. I don't think there is a significant running back available via FA but I would rather spend FA money on a RB than spend a draft pick on one.

MiniMing, you don't even like the Texans, WTF are you doing here?
I don't think they have their mind made up on Carr; he's gone? I don't think so. Kubiak was evaluating EVERYONE this season, and saw what a bruising back could do in this offense, and ran Dayne and Taylor up the Colts' and Browns' asses. There's really no need for a WR, RB, or DL. What we need is to build the defense around DEMECO and MARIO, and everything will be sweeter than honey in 1 year.

Shall we pull a Herschel Walkerish type of deal and get a brand new Offensive line?

I think The Texans should pay for Swoly-D's smiley addiction rehab.

Come on, Swoly...the first step is admitting you have a problem...

It was a good draft apart from the first pick. Do you think that the Titans would trade Young for Carr? Case closed.

If you really think it was that simple, then you really don't get all the dynamics in building a football team.

williams should be judged on his own merits, and he had a productive, if injury-plagued, first year, flashing enormous potential. dude's barely old enough to drink legally.

the texans' first 5 picks were all exceptional.

I agree with your whole post, but I think we need a DT more than another DE. Having a guy who can stop the run and pressure the QB up the middle would do WONDERS for Mario, especially when he comes back at 100% next year.

I would be happy if we used our 1st round pick on a stud DT. It wouldn't be a 'sexy' pick, but I think we should build our team from the trenches out, like you said.

Our starting DE's had a combined 5.5 sacks between them. This team needs a pass rusher in the worst way.

Having a DT that they didn't just pick up off the street (Maddox) frees up the DE's to focus simply on pressuring the QB, and avoiding the double-teams that they've been seeing all year.

Travis Johnson... ugh. Possibly a bigger waste of space/pick than Babin (and that's not saying much).

Could you imagine if we had Derrick Johnson & Demeco Ryans?

Travis Johnson is terrible. I agree that they need to get some better talent at DT. I still think Peek and Babin can be successful at DE if there is someone who can stop the run better. They have to be able to get to the qb w/o blitzing.

This is what I'd like to see this offseason:

    Free Agency
    Leonard Davis (LT)
    Eric Steinbach (OG)
    Assante Samuel (CB)

    Draft
Trade #8 to New York for #26, 33,58
We then have #26,39,40,58,73 in the draft

    #26 Michael Bush(RB)
    #39 Michael Griffin (FS)
    #40 Rufus Alexander (OLB)
    #58 Aaron Rouse (SS)
    #73 Adam Carraker(DE)

seriously, what is most of the people fascinations about leonard davis that he could fit kubiak's zone blocking system. The dude weighs at least 350 (last time i heard it was 370)

people from texas just want players from texas to play for the texans.
regardless if it was UT,Aggies, TCU etc..

You know if Ladanian was available for free agency, the Texans under Casserdly wouldnt sign him, if if LT wanted to play for the Texans.
