Behad: do you think that someone on here could hear one of your real life conversations, chuckle and say "oh, that's just Behad for you!" (or whatever your real name is).

Congrats about your son's team. Little league baseball rocks [IMG]. Wish their name had been the ASTROS, though! I wouldn't dislike the Red Sox so much if Bostonians weren't so friggin nutty about them...

I would like to think so haven. The only difference would an increase in the wisecracks, because vocally I can use inflection and tone to get a laugh.

BTW, Behad is a condensed version of my real name.

I think the only time I really felt like I knew enough of a person to make a personal attack was with Jim165. I know he was probably just a troll, but I couldn't help but thinking that there was a nasty, paranoid wacko on the other computer [IMG]. Seriously, the man nearly gave me apoplexy!

Hope I don't get flamed now!

Damn haven, where did all the other contestants go? Do you ever get the feeling they have all moved to another thread and left us here?

    partner,

Yeah, I know you said jamcracker was wrong...I just did not understand the point of you going after Jeff/Brian...then Clutch.

If it was to deflect...then job well done.

As per my questions...sorry, I do not "get it," I was just trying to bring the context back to this thread. That was, after all, the intent of the original message.

You not being interested further reinforces my point...why use a perfectly good thread to attain personal goals or answers, especially to the detriment of said thread.

Couldn't you just email Brian? Did it have to be public? I know you are tired of the heypee thing, but do you not see how you bring it upon yourself? If you constantly have these personal, public, wars, people will feed off of it.

Anyway, understand there is no malice in my posts..I do not know you, Brian, or anyone -- excluding Jeff. I, therefore, have no friends or enemies (again, except for Jeff and can you guess which one he is?).

Oh well, it seems Rocket River is the only one who wants to discuss the original issues of this thread.

So, Rocket River, wanna talk about any of those questions I directed towards heypartner?

Whoa there guys. When they asked you 'where's the love', I don't think they meant that kind of love. You guys take if from one extreme to the other! [IMG]

Your statement is accurate if there is no racial bias in hiring coaches.

Jackie Robinson wasn't the first black that was good enough to play in the major leagues. He and Larry Doby weren't the only major league caliber blacks at the time.

Blacks were underrepresented in baseball for years after Robinson's entrance in 1947. By 1953, only six of the 16 Major League Baseball teams had black players on their rosters. _

It took baseball years to accept the notion that blacks could perfom athletically as well as whites. I figure it'll take even longer for baseball to accept the notion that white can coach or general manage as well as whites.

I disagree with your non-inflammatory statement because I believe that racial bias may exist in sports hiring practices. I can't disregard the possibility of racial bias altogether.

    As for the inflammatory statement...

I dug up an archive of a news broadcast from 1988 describing the firing of Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder.

    I transcribed the video:

News Announcer: In a tersely worded statement, CBS Sports announced it has fired oddsmaker Jimmy "The Greek" Synder for making on-camera remarks about black athletes.

*cut to video of Jimmy "The Greek" Synder talking to the camera*

Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder: If they take over coaching like everyone wants them to, there's not gonna be anything left for the white people. I mean, all the players are black, the only thing whites control is the coaching jobs. Now I'm not being derogatory about it, but that's all that's left for them.

    the video

BrianKagy said basically the same thing that got Jimmy "The Greek" fired. Plus, he added the part about whites buying 80% of the merchandise.

Good point, but we may never really know. I would rather like to think that we're getting away from hiring the African American because he's been deprived for 200 years and rather hiring him because "he sure would be great for the job!".

    ------------------
I encourage you to take a look. His rhythmic meter and usage of alliteration is sublime, as is his boldly dark but refreshing subject matter, which rivals that of Byron or Shelley-- this statement was actually made by a guy who won our fantasy basketball league (fadeaway). We're not worthy.

Jimmy "The Greek" was fired because he said slavery made African Americans great athletes... that their athletic ability came from breeding within slaves from the Civil War era.

Snyder said, and I quote, "the slave owner would breed his big black with his big woman so that he would have a big black kid. That's where it all started."

Just a tad different from what Kagy said, though I can understand why you would leave that major detail out.

Here's the clip before you edited it some 8 hours later.

You lied, heyp. You flat out misled people. I was about to go nuts on your ass before you explained yourself via email. I have never posted using your username, as was implied, and did not put words in to your mouth. I want to show people how absolutely ludicrous and how much of a joke you truly are on this board to bring up something so meaningless and trivial from two years ago.

heypartner responded to Popeye's "Cuttino Mobley has signed" post saying it was illegal and that the NBA watches sites like this for information such as that (<a href="http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/Forum3/HTML/006950.html">see thread</a>). Now listen closely (and you won't believe this)... heypartner is complaining because the <a href="http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/Forum3/HTML/006970.html">thread I posted</a> to say Mobley had not and can not sign yet started out like this:

"I hate to be a party pooper, but heypartner is dead on accurate in what he was trying to get across in his post."

That's it. Nothing else. I actually agreed with heypartner -- nothing more, nothing less. As a result, I'm "waving heypeon around as a joke" and "not using my own words". I can't believe it. Had heypartner not explained to me what he was referring to, I never would have known what the hell he was talking about.

Keep in mind: This is the example heypartner used to prove I'm not a "great guy on the BBS". That is truly, truly messed up.

And you have received an apology more than once for me suspecting you as BobRainey, you are just choosing to ignore them.

I have said nothing I regret or apologize for in this thread. Your posting style is wierd man, real wierd. One day you're posting a great and detailed description of a play with good insight, the next slamming someone on something trivial and pointless and refusing to let it go. Why you would pull out the Popeye situation is seriously beyond me. I did absolutely nothing wrong in the way that was handled, imo. You have some strange infatuation with this board and the goings on here, beyond the attraction it is to myself and others. It's the reason you constantly try to "break" it, or use HTML somehow to your advantage, or try to edit others' posts. You use access to the board's server to your advantage and I'm tired of having to answer for "accidental" deletes.

From Day One you've been this way, this complete schizo poster. When you first came on this board you posted a completely inflammatory response at me, and I didn't even know you. I had posted some piece of info on Hakeem in 1999 from the Denver Post. I had no idea that similar info was posted in the Chronicle a few days before. In comes heypee and just goes in to this triple exclamation tirade post -- that I was intentionally not crediting the Chronicle writers, deliberately stealing credit and giving it to my "friends" in Denver. You demanded I retract a friggin' link to a story to the Denver Post and edit it so that it would go to "Houston writers I am ripping off".

I couldn't believe the audacity of this guy (never mind there was Chronicle credit all over the site on other stories), but rather than respond, I changed the link. What does he do? Deletes his post (another reason he went ballistic when "his deletes were taken away from him")

All you had to post was, "Hey Clutch - might want to know the Chronicle mentioned this the other day... here's the link." and I get the point. Instead, for whatever reason, you took a step out then 20 other steps farther out. Unreal.

You do this constantly, and your ridiculous insults at Almu is just the most recent example. Blasting Jeff for "Save Our Rockets". That was total garbage. Going in to this complete baby hissy fit that the Rockets should contact you on this board rather than lurk since you are a 'season ticket holder, dammit, and have over 4000 posts', and when they did, you tried to completely humiliate publically the woman in marketing who contacted you. Think they'll write you another time? Think again. Ask anyone there who is the "joke" -- they'll tell you. Trust me on that, and I despise the fact that the organization tried to help someone at my site and you slapped them in the face. I mean have you ever thought that maybe the reason someone told you to **** off is because you 100% deserved it?

But such is your legacy. Completely pointless, and borderline sick, tirades. I mean what? Only 6 responses, calling for Kagy's head, without letting the man respond? Nice. While you on the flip side call someone a "big ass black guy" or put words in Jesse Jackson's mouth that "blacks are far superior athletically than whites" and ask me to print it. Yeah, right. Commode Comments. Pfft. Sure enough that's what I did with it -- flushed it right down the toilet. Then you have the balls to come in here and imply Kagy is using racial slurs and is a hypocrite and censor because he once removed the word "******" from a post? That's OK to do, but on the other hand... heypartner has had his feelings hurt in the style of a <a href="http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/Forum3/HTML/010146.html">harmless ClutchPlays mention</a>. It's OK to call someone a hypocritical racist, but diss a barbecue and a man has to defend himself. To go to your barbecue I'd need to shed 50 pounds, get a tan, haircut and buy some nicer clothes. No thanks. I don't want to hang around people who pretend to know me and my life based on my appearance, so bend over ... I'll show you where you and jammie can stick your grill.

So in closing ... jamcracker, remember Walgreen's is open 24 hours a day to fill your prescriptions and heypartner, I'll say it again, as a poster on this BBS, you are a joke.

Man, I gotta say, reading this thread was like shaving my testicles...it was tedious, it was frustrating, and after I was finished I simply had to ask myself, "Why?"

(No offensive, shanna. I thought it was a good idea, and had potential, but the discussion quickly bogged down into crap)

(I sincerely apologize to anyone who shaves their testicles and does not feel it was a waste of time...my post simply reflects my opinion [IMG])

(If this post was too offensive, someone let me know and I will edit it out before I am labeled a racist)

Any post with the word "race" in it is going to get turned upside down around here (unless it's about a car race, or a foot race, and even then you never know).

I don't shave my testicles, but it sure SEEMS like it would be a wasted of time....WAX those babies! [IMG]

Your post WAS too offensive, you racist b*stard. [IMG]
