I'm with you, LiTtLeY on this "wish" but I'd be just as happy if we get a pure shooter to help out. Artest is a powder keg whom I think wouldn't fit well with the Rox. But as to Nachbar. I'd really like to see more of what he can do. I haven't seen him play so I really have no opinion. But suffice it to say, I think Posey is NOT our man. theSAGE
good pick up this year, but there is no need/reason to resign him. he is not the future of the three and will cost too much money. Nachbar and Terence will be able to hold down that position in the future with a better compatablility for the team and less money/
Where is that James Posey dunk on the highlight reels? It was the dunk where Steve Francis was bringing the ball up the court, while looking away, threw an alley-oop to James Posey for the one-hand finish against the Bulls.
Well, Posey is adequate at best. He will never be a star player. But I give the trade for him a thumbs up, just because I never really liked KT. Right now i'm just crossing my fringers hoping EG will develop... if not, MoT will have to do (not that he is bad)
"I would love to have a younger Glen Rice in that position." I thought that was a good, funny, texas quote. What team in the NBA wouldn't want a yuonger GLen Rice at the 3...he was one of the league's most prolific scorers for 7 or 8 years. But anyway, Posey, despite what most of you Texans, who I am convinced only see slam dunks and chest pounding when watching basketball, think, does not fit well on this team, especially on the first unit with Yao. Posey was not the best pickup, but not a bad one. He should be playing smaller minutes...of the bench dirty work. This isn't Denver..he have 5 great scorers who are capable of playing smart team defense to start games...why we don't...i dunno...but Posey has soemthing to do with it.
Well smart one....learn how to quote people first. Smart one.....why don't you become our coach? You're just smarter than all of Texas. Well you are smarter than George Bush. Smart one.....spell younger. I know...just a small mistake. And I agree with you again. Posey should not start. He should be on the bench......but still playing a while. We shouldn't resign him.
Posey has become more disappointing as the season has gone on. I don't think he's happy with a defensive dirty work type player... I'm hoping we don't resign him. The 3 should be held for Morris and Nachbar in the future. Actually I think we should be starting Morris or Rice instead of Posey. Morris has a decent jumper, has good D, and I think he'd work well with Griffin and Yao. Now that's a shot blocking lineup. Rice, well, the arguement for him is out of respect and the fact that when he's on from 3 pt land he is very useful. Plus "veteran leadership" is always a good thing right? I thought the trade would be good at first, but now I'd rather have KT playing the 3 than Posey. KT was a hard worker, great rebounder and good on D. Still, the trade was a good idea to begin with.
Posey is just another Shandon Anderson given credit as a defensive stopper....which I havent really seen yet. I find myself asking now, just as I did when SA was still here....and that question is WHY IN THE HELL IS HE STARTING!!!!!???? I like him....but as an off the bench threat. Maybe Im wrong..but he should not be starting. Rudy has got to make a change...if the starting five dig us into a hole in the 1st quarter EVERY GAME....then maybe its time to change the starting five????
While I agree with a lot of what you have to say, you are a complete and total, ignorant jackass. Please die.
RocketGuy3 - Comment like yours are absolutely idiotic. Please grow up. I agree with many of the comments about Posey coming off the bench. The only reason I can find for him still being a starter is because Rudy is not only a mental midget but also because he's stubborn and prideful and does not want to admit that this "highly touted" trade sucks almost as bad as his other coaching decisions. If we still had K.T. then Mo could be the starting 4 and K.T. could come of the bench (or Vice-Versa). But the combination of Posey AND Eddie Griffen on offense is what is killing the Rockets EVERY SINGLE TIME they are on the floor together. When those two guys are out there together the opposing teams only need to play defense on 3 players!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please make Posey go away, and if Boki is not going to get any minutes (which is also a dumbass move by Rudy, no matter what sphynx-like comment Doc Rocket makes...) then at least give Posey's minutes to the Hawk!! He CAN knock down a 15 ft jump shot and plays defense at least as good as Posey!!
I've never a defensive stopper get as consistently lit up by no names like Posey does. The guy brings nothing, nada to the table. Our defense has gone to crap, partly because of Posey. Yet another perimeter player that can't go around a screen and keep his man in front of him. KT may have not been a protypical foward but he kept his man(3 or 4) in front of him and he could hit a shot half of the time.
41 fan... will you please quit your **** about texans. i mean dam boy what is your major malfuntion??... do you just hate texas for some reason??? or what??? i agree with a lot of what you say but dont think so ignorantly about us texans, thats plain dumb. at first i thought the posey trade was a good one. at first posey hit about .500 but now he is more around the .300 shooting %, and thats not good... but then i remember the real reason why we traded KT, because the rockets are hoping(yes hoping i said the rockets not anybody other than the rockets) that griff will grow into a more complete player to fit our team(meaning shot blocker rebounder that can hit the open shot)... and that becuase KTs contract was going to be up and he was going to want a big $contract... he wanted a MO T type contract and the rockets were not going to give it to him so they traded him in hopes to fill a need that we have at the 3 spot... if it were up to me i would put boki out there so he would be ahead of the curve next year... but thats not what the rockets are going to do unless we are out of the playoffs. they want to take both yao and boki slow to develope them for years of play not just for this year. and with that said more than likely rudy t will be the rockets caoch for at least 3-4 more years... the organization thinks he is a great caoch and the city loves him for what he did 8 years ago. do i agree with living in the past, no i dont i only want another ring for my city no matter what. with or with out rudy, with or without yao, with or without steve... but i know the rockets future has all 3 of these guys in it.... at least for 3-4 years... do i agree with everything the rockets are doing, no... do i have faith in what they are doing, yes... they are my one and only team i have no choice i have seen boki in action... when the rockets are down by 20 in the last 3 minutes thats when he plays( see i even watch the hopeless games to the end) and i like what he brings.. but he tried too much, and i dont blame him he wants to de everything he can with the 2 minutes he has left... he is agressive and like to take it to the hole, he has a good mid-short range jump shot, but he still needs to work on his defense, but it was a lot better than i thought it would be... i like what i saw from him i only wish i could see more every game but again 41 fan chill out please... it pains me to see ignorance of that nature on this board, i see it from peeps talking about chinese peeps in here and now i see it about texans, the state that the rockets call home???? i just dont get it???why be a hater??
Are you telling me you don't find anything that 41Fan loser has to say offensive or just plain ol' stupid? I'm pretty sure you live in Texas too... Or did you just say that out of bitterness for me calling you an idiot plenty of times before, too? I just call it how it is...
No "hating" intended...you morons have a right to spew your inane musings, and I have the right to point how how dumb some of you usually sound....and as for all Texans being kinda slow...that's maybe a bit too all encompassing...after all you did produce....ummm...hmmm....not even the famous people who died at the Alamo were Texans...hmm...I'll have to get back to you.
That you agree with me shows that you aren't a moron Texan...that you would like me to die, perhaps one of the numerous "y'all" put to death every year, show that you are, however, a Texan.
I like Posey and thing he is our only chance to match up on defense with Kobe. I like to tell my spur friends that he is our B. Bowen. However, I must say that the guy shoots some of the stinkiest air balls in the whole leauge. I have actually started to look forward with anticipation to seeing him find a new way to screw up a perfectly wide open shot. Sick huh?
Posey is a great role player and every good team needs a James Posey. Hes one of those dirty work players that helps a team get to the next level by doing the little things. But i also believe we shouldnt put too much on him to become anything more than he is right now. He doesnt show me any good things offensively other than occasionaly in spurts. I also agree with many when they say that he is over agressive many times which causes him to make mistakes, and his lack of being an offensive threat aloows teams to double team off him onto Yao (ie wizards game). I like the sf position with Posey and Rice, its a great Defense and Offense combo. I would like to see Posey play some sg also.
I think posey is a great addition to the Rockets. I hope he is here next year for the entire season and then some. For the time he has been given with this team, I believe he is much better than Shandon and Kenny. Just wait!!
