They gave up 1st and moved positions on the other. So you only *Lost* 1 pick. Where they have been picking lately its a late first anyways.
I think the dude is a winner and not in the stupid way Vince Young was. This guy knows football and works hard.
All naysayers will eat their words... Dude is exactly what the Texans needed. Defenses have to gameplan for his running ability. He can also crisply throw with accuracy 40 yards and below. His flaws can be coached away easily... Good person in general...good leader and GREAT WINNER. Understands what winning is, and has a winners mindset. He's a player, and of course the "bad pick" folks will act like they never said it 12 months from now. Book that.
Even if he's just average to above average, I'll take it, and this will have been worth trading up. The Texans have had one QB in the history of the franchise that could have been considered above average, and Schaub was really only in that conversation for less than a handful of seasons.
Think on the bright side, I hear he's chock full of justwinz and other intangibles to make up for his lack of accuracy, velocity, and ability to read defenses.
Bust since he will most likely get all the losing habits from JJ Fatt I can see him being a success at most other teams but for eggball Texans? No bueno
Wanted Mahonnes, but happy with Watson. My QB rank was Mahomes, Watson, and then Kizer. After those three i would have tried to trade for a QB.
Those deficiencies in the NFL translates into bust AND we traded a first round pick on top of that AND this after trading picks to get rid of another bad decision at qb. Other franchises thank god for the Clevelands and Houstons of the league.
Mahomes has an arm that hasn't been seen since Vicodin'd up Brett Favre. Watson has the most controversial noodle arm since schaubie. Only one can win. .
To be fair though, this is the first time we've REALLY screwed up in the first round in recent memory given that it's too early to give up on baby hands. The last total screw up I can remember was Amobi Okoye and that was a minute ago. Of course that doesn't make this any better if he ends up being the limited QB I think he probably will end up being.
Based on your posts related to the Texans QBs the last few years, I am actually shocked that you had learned all these words before in your life.
I'm not shocked that you'd post something stupid like this based on your posts the last few years. There was hope you'd get better, but not blind hope.
I think he has intangibles - like leadership and will to win. He wins on big stages. He won the Davey O'Brien Award (top college QB), for the second consecutive year in 2016. Iirc, he was going to be in the mix for top QB in the draft if he elected to come out last year.
