No worry, you think JVG's going to allow Moochie free lance out there? We have plenty of PG on the team, Mooch's only going to see garbage minutes or all other PG are injured. I leave a slight hope, less than .0001, that Mooch might correct himself this time around.

Moochie + Vin Baker = two 3rd stringers AT BEST

    Mo Taylor can actually contribute.

So basically we gave away a contributor for 10 million dollars in salary relief over a 3 year period.

You guys can say that's a good deal if you want, but to me Moochie & Baker are both worthless.

Something bothers me is that Baker is no factor in knicks, the team needs a big body badly. I have to ask myself how can he be effective with Rockets?
Don't expect too much from him I would suggest.

    I could not agree more.
    Mooch (145) + Baker (240) = 385
    MOT = 250
The bench will immediately notice the extra 135 pounds sitting there. Come on man, last time Taylor made a significant contribution, Strickland was sitting at home (BEFORE HE JOINED THE ROCKETS). Why are people whining about losing him seriously. He and Howard are basically the same player - except he's a former clipper. So if baker and mooch come in and do nothing then we're paying 10mil less for nothing. Now i'm not an accountant but it seems like if somebody came up to me and said hey man, i'm not doing anything can you pay me 10 mil for it, and another two guys came up and said hey man we're not doing anything will you give us nothing for it... hmmm... I'm gonna pay the two guys who want nothing, and send first guy to Isaiah... he'll pay anybody. Good Job CD.

Why don't we actually wait and see what they do...

At very least, we've freed up some money a year earlier, even if Mooch and Vin never play. At best...both contribute and we've freed up the money, and got an extra pick.

If Vin stays clean he can contribute. Moochie, as much as most of this board hates him, is a upgrade over Strickland. I think w/o Cat and Francis to hang out with, Moochie will be more mature. I could be wrong, but I for one am willing to give him a chance. I may be overestimating him, but having to watch the SA and Seattle games with Strickland starting, I'd bet we could have at least won the Seattle game.

This trades are just quickfixes, they are trading for old guys that are just going to run out of gas by the end of season. I don't want to be too critical but that's how i feel about this trades, not enough youth on our team.

As much as I hate to be the oldest team in the league, I'd much rather have a buch of veterans that are as Kenny "the Jet" would say "willing to eat soup with a fork" (trying their hardest to win a Championship before time runs out), than a buch of younger players that have their whole careers to try and win a ring and are just looking for a big paycheck and trying to feed their egos right now.

I absolutely love the team chemistry since the addition of Wesley, Sura, Barry and Deke that know this could very well be their last chance at a ring.

I could not agree less, our stars are 24 and almost 25, James is 29 and hell, we're complaining about old? Our role players Howard/Wesley/Mutumbo - two of whom are 32, are veterans. I can't remember a team full of 28 and unders winning a whole lot of championships. In fact seems to me we won a couple with a bunch of 30 somethings and very little youth. I don't know why everyone's crying we get a true pg (sura+ability to knock down a J consistently) and remove some dead salary saving around 10mil in cap space and freeing ourselves a year early? Oh and did I mention with the pathetic moves Dallas and Sacklessmento made we might over take one of them? Guys we're not backing into these playoffs for the first time in oh 7 years. Sure we're prob out in the 2nd round, but ummm... when is the last time (ok other than with 15 secs to go in the lakers game) that you thought we had a legit chance to win a playoff series?

Oh, you are exaggerating here, Mo Taylor is not a great 4, but in the sense of contribution, M.Talor is obviously greater than v.baker+Moochi, so the only gain for the rockets is to dump that fat contract of Taylor... so we can only pray Juwan Howard stays hot... :-(

Mo Taylor hasn't contributed since January. ANYTHING we get from Moochie or Baker is a bonus. Basically, CD is both cutting and hedging his losses. MoT's Rocket career was done. He turned it into 2 guys whose Knick days were dying.

If Moochie or Baker give us something, we're in double bonus territory.

Show me a way you were going to split the MLE for that to work. It was James or Sura.

I'd have to agree with the fact that Mo is a better player WHEN he wants to contribute, but recently with him not playing and being in the JVG doghouse, how much do you really think he wanted to actually play for JVG. I think Mo will put up great numbers in NY while Baker and Moochie won't for us.

The good side to all this is that we have a 3rd string C who has shown in the past that he can play, although I'm not sure he can play anymore.
