I doubt their vision of society is much like mine, but I'm not against lying to get a job. Thanks for the advice.

Obviously this is a disingenuous thread, but why only list the subterfuge?

    I guess I don't get clown humor.

LOL at the hypocritical libs demonizing the Kochs, while these same people would defend George Soros and Tom Steyer to their last breath for buying FAR more influence than the Kochs have ever managed.

Par for the course for this board's libtards.

    Uh, no we wouldn't

We like it when someone throws money behind humanist causes because they desire to promote and improve civilization. But we would burn anyone promoting causes for their own profit motives. (I of course have authority to speak in the royal term We)

    Can conservatives say the same?

LOL again. So as long as they are contributing money towards "humanist" causes - i.e., leftist causes like fighting global warming, legalizing same sex marriages, and promoting socialized medicine - that's just fine. And as long as they're using the influence they've bought to enact policies furthering those po.lities, it's just peachy. But if a conservative say, contributes over $100 million for cancer research, $35 million to the Smithsonian, or $65 million to the Metropolitan Museum of Art... he's the Devil?

Seriously, LOL. Your hypocrisy as mind-bending as is your predictability is reliable (I mean, the profit = evil theme just had to make its way in there somewhere, right?). As it always is. :)

profit is not evil, profits allow workers to make a livable wage

it's the ethics and morals that are the point: making obscene profits, selling junk, using lies, polluting the planet, conspicuous consumption, exploiting workers, offshoring profits to avoid taxes to support the nation you live in and do business in, cronyism and the old boy network that keep monies within classes without real merit, privatized profits with socialized risk, spending profits to lobby advantageous laws that don't serve the general public..... that kind of stuff is what I don't like about the US corporatocracy. The snowball effects of money and power eating away at democracy.

Any grade school kid would know what is right and what is not.

If you are 35 or younger - and quite often, older - the advice of the old economy does not apply to you. You live in the post-employment economy, where corporations have decided not to pay people. Profits are still high. The money is still there. But not for you. You will work without a raise, benefits, or job security. Survival is now a laudable aspiration.

looked for a Koch brothers thread and this seemed like the only one.

My wife is marking the tenth anniversary of her cancer diagnosis this fall and just made her first trip back to NYC for scans since before covid began. Her doctor's office at Sloan Kettering has moved since the last time she was there and is now in the David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care at Sloan Kettering.

She just texted to say "Don’t like the Koch bros politics, but I appreciate their philanthropy"

She sent along the following pics

    view from her doctor's office:

    view from doctors office.jpeg

    the waiting rooms:

    for what it's worth

on edit: my younger daughter commenting on the waiting rooms "They’ve utilized salutogenic design " to which my wife replies "Yes they have. So lovely and really different way of handling patients"
