Look they are not going to win the championship with a player like this season's McGrady in the rotation. Just move on ... trade him or shut him down. I rather not win the championship with the team that was on the floor last night.
Thanks, but you can't tell the Tmacians that ......they think the emporer is wearing a nice suit, me, I see him naked. DD
That's the problem, you made a good point. We need a healthly TMac and he will be himself next season...at leat should be.
Morey and Les have no choice right now. They need to move on. I think the season would be a success if they could make the playoffs and get past the 1st round with the current group minus T-Mac. Trust me T-Mac will be wanting to come back in 3 or 4 weeks and the rockets brass need to resist. It will probably be hard for Les to say no while he's forking out $250gs to have him sit in this weak economy.
morey won the sf3 play by trading him off the team. is he thinking about doing the same this time? my concern is like many others'. "rest" has proven not working - if a long summer of "rest" didn't do anything, how another 2 months can do the job? more importantly, if he comes back right before the playoffs, what do you do? start him and the team slips again right INTO the playoffs? just rid of him; or marbury him. he's had enough chances. even if he does wonders on another team, i can care less. he won't be able to do that on this rockets team, anyway.
This what I get. The knee is inconsistently non healthy. Some days the pain isn't bad then the next it unbearable. He doesn't want to have to take shots for pain and wind up with kidney damage like mourning. Personally, I would just make a trade, get another wing in and if he comes back, cool, if not cool too. This team still is good enough to play well and make the playoffs. As long as they duck la,utah, and maybe portland, they'll be ok. I wonder if the rox can get azibukke from gsw.
Speaking as one of the biggest JVG doesn't fit here (Not a hater), I already acknowledged that JVG got to Tmac better than anyone. That doesn't mean he should be the coach, just that he was better at motivating a prima donna like Tracy. ----------------------back on topic -------------------------------- I will say that I think Morey is being tested, and he needs to grab his tethered sack and get a beer in his hand...and force the issue. "OK Tmac, let's get a scope on your knee to see if there is any real damage".....if not...then you are OUT, and here is your training regime, with TEAM trainers...to strengthen your knee, if you don't do it, you are in BREACH of contract. The stick is in his hand, he needs to put it in the sand and draw that line. DD
DD, I see a team full of wings like gsw or I would like to have radman from charlotte. I do agree we should trade shane and upfrade.
Doc Rocket probably knows better. But, this is what I see. McGrady started playing again on the advice of his doctors that he had to play through it and the knee would strengthen over time and the pain would decrease. But, the pain is not decreasing and the MRI is showing that the knee hasn't improved since the surgery like it was supposed to. McGrady concludes that the advice he was given is wrong because the predicted results are not materializing. Meanwhile, he recognizes that he's hurting the team on the court and suspects that he might be r****ding the healing by playing and probably also suspects that the doctors are missing something. He and the team are better off with him not playing for now. Doc, you said he was resting the knee instead of rehabbing. When he took his 2 weeks off, wasn't he allegedly doing rehab then?
Great question, was he doing the Rehab prescribed to help his knee or just general conditioning. I have been under the assumption that he has still NOT done the prescribed Rehab. DD
This is the dilemma about JVG. Yes, he could motivate and control T-Mac a lot better than Adelman. BUT, the way he did it was to let T-Mac control the whole offense. And that has proven to be not good enough in the playoffs. Adelman wants to mold the team into a motion unit, which I think is a superior way than JVG's. BUT, Adelman does not have the personality and toughness to get T-Mac under control. And I am putting hope on Morey to do something. I don't know. Morey is kind of mysterious to me at this point. He should be smart enough to see the problem (whatever it is), and probably the way to solve it. But does he have what it takes to fix it?
unfortunately, that's just how things work in many pro sports teams nowadays. many stars do whatever they want to (incl. ouster of a coach sometimes) - after their mega contracts are guaranteed.
