I do not agree, it's all about percentage. If hayes or deke at a postion wide open to shoot a mid range J, should they take the shot or not? It's not a good shot selection.
i dont know rafer shot 36% from 3 this year thats not horrific or anything. Game 1 he was 3 for 10 for 30% if he made 1 more at 4-10 all the sudden he had a good night? I thought rafer played a good game he didn't lose focus, we have no real backup to rafer thats our problem, no one else that can handle the rock while under defensive pressure, teams have wised up to pressuring Head
I say pf. How about we go after that byg man form Boston College wyth the cornrows. Dudley, i beleyve his name is
yeah true that. the j*zz definetely gonna come out firing if put pressure on Head and squeeze the ball.
Man, I' am almost willing to accept Rafer's shooting percentage if he just didn't take those dumbass shots at the beginning of the shotclock or after an offensive rebound.
actually I am pretty happy with alston. most times it's not his fault to take that many 3s or tear drops. battier for what even reasons would always passed back the ball to alston if he saw skip was open. it's like battier thinks alston is a better shooter.
Rafer's 36% from 3 is not bad, he take considerably amount of last-second shot, while Shane almost only take open shot. We do need a backup PG or even better a 6th man, ideally Franics. As for PF, Hayes fouls a lot, trade Howard for a starter PF. Then we have a championship team.
Isn't this kind of thread more relevant in the offseason? The team is in the middle of playoffs and no roster move can be made for months. Besides, haven't this topic been talked to death a million times already? You'd think there is a more appropriate time to bring this up other than after a good playoff win.
Need both, but I will vote pg. Thirty percent shooting is not going to get it. I would also love a big brusing pf that gets about 15-10 a game with a mid range jumper. I love Hayes and Rafer seems like a nice guy and has amazing handles, but both should be coming off the bench. But why are we talking about this; it's the PLAYOFFS!
After that why don't we trade JL3 and Bonzi for Michael Redd and Deke and Snyder for the draft rights to Greg Oden.
true, but Im guessing he was just upgraded from rookie, so felt like he HAD to make a thread. The way I look at it is this....Rafer has a decent 3 percentage, his inside shots are horrible, but IMO his lack of turnovers, ballhandling, and his ability to keep the team in their offense more than makes up for it. We do have two viable options at backup for Rafer....Span and Head...they just need more NBA point guard training. Span has shown flashes of that ability, and Head just needs some more work on his weaknesses(keep in mind, most NBA players start to really *get* NBA ball by their third years, this is just Luther's second, he *can* still be taught) on the other hand, our PF is downright thin with no appreciable backup in the near future Chuck does a fine job and Im happy to have him and Juwan has been very solid, but this cant keep up...his age is slowly taking away what little athleticism he has left. This is a fact of life (trust me, Im over 40, I know about this) also...PF is interchangable with our center spot, and Deek aint getting any younger. So...with these facts known I really feel our most pressing need MUST be a athletic younger bigman to help shore up our PF and backup center spots IF we can find an established point that can be brought in to help backup and teach our younger guards...that would be great...but the PF is by far the first place I would look to shore up in the offseason.
I agree with your points. We are in serious need of a guy in the Chris Wilcox mode. Someone whos big enough to backup at C but athletic enough to also play the PF. My order of needs in the offseason PF/C - Someone, anyone who can fill the roles that Juwan/Deke play right now Backup PG - I don't see any way to get better at PG than what we have now, so I really just want a quality PG who wont do anything stupid SG/SF backup - we serisouly need someone to close the gap that exists right now between TMax and whoever backs him up when he is out.
if you enjoy being clueless, fine dont let us stop you, but dont be surprised when the only people that take you seriously are ppl with your same agenda. bye now
Synder for the rookie Walter Herrmann. Bobcats have too many PF's that have earned playing time but still need more guards. Both are expiring contracts except Snyder's has bird rights but not Herrmann's. Herrmann started in the last 12games for the Bobcats. Prior to that he was more or less collecting DNP's. In those last 12 games he averaged 19.58pts, 5.67rbs, 34.5% (28/58) 3P%, 58.5% (96/164) FG%. That end season burst while not to scale of Sura's trip dub performance for the Hawks is reminiscent of it. Sura's trip dub's came in the last 18 games where he was a starter before that he played off the bench. Herrmann is a NBA-proven PF. He has 3P range, plays very good defense.
Lets not get Rafer mistaken, he only has ONE flaw and its easily fixable. STOP THE TEARDROP!!!!! Other than that a backup point and a serviceable PF would do. We could win while taking a PF by committee approach.
We definitely need a Power Forward that can DUNK and REBOUND...it would be nice if they could hit a 15 footer!
