The window with 99.5% of the players in the NBA is so short and it really catches up with teams. We have seen it start to impact Harden and Steph Curry and it already is with Davis.... and you look at someone like Kawhi Leonard and he turns 31 years old this summer and hasn't been healthy in years.... Paul George turns 32 this summer.

You have to be a dynasty, really lucky or go for it 100% in the NBA.

AD played 40 games this year. The lakers didn't even make the play in, which includes a couple teams well under .500. laughable for a team with the 2nd best odds to win an nba title to start the season. He came back last weekend and were officially eliminated a couple days ago by phx.

won't take him unless Lakers are willing to give up a pick so we can keep the pick and release him later.

That team got bounced in round 1 the year prior, and dudes were betting even more money that they'd win it all with Russ?

Did nobody watch Russ play in Houston????

That's because they needed AD to be their best player. The Rockets will neednhim to be 4th best... when they contend in 1 or 2 years...

Understood he missed more this year... i think 35 games is realistic estimate...

He's going to be the 4th best player on this team in a year or two? The rockets will still be one of the worst teams in the league

For the people who want AD, didn’t you learn anything from Yao and T-Mac?

This is true! I loved the T-Mac call and since my name also starts with a T, my buddies would say it when we played.

I made my account and then later saw a post from “Tfor3”, and I actually asked clutch to change my name to “AB For 3!!”. I had met Aaron Brooks and was connected with him on XBOX Live, but I never got a response for the change so I just stuck with it.

I’m sure there are other similar named accounts, but it is kinda funny that the 3 of us are all pretty active on here as well.

Ya’ll realize AD is arguably a top 5 player when healthy? It’s absurd to act like we wouldn’t give up anyone not named Green for him.

I know we give up a lot with him. Talk about taking a (broken leg) step backwards.

AD is the Black Bill Walton. An injury prone big who can play like the best player in the game if he stays healthy for a full season.

Let's not be the Clippers and buy into him in his 30s.

It is not about injury, it is more about strategy.

Avoiding injury prone players is part of strategy

You would hope Jalen Green, Jabari/Chet/Sengun, and whoever they sign with max cap space in a year would be ahead of him... this also assumes he's missing time...

none of those guys make a leap into an AD caliber player when healthy in 1 or 2 years. that's literally dreamland

where do folks get these ideas things happen overnight. I have no clue

Top 5 is patently false. Top 5 players can carry G-league teams to the 8th seed. Top 15 maybe. Also when healthy is a pretty key phrase!

And you're not taking into account the team's phase. We have a bunch of bumbling stumbling rookies and sophomores that might grow into greatness, but adding an aging veteran for big money is a win-now move and just doesn't make abundant sense. It would make more sense if the owner was just desperate to sell tickets and ruin draft position.

    In no particular order...
    - Harden
    - Durant
    - Curry
    - LBJ
    - Embiid
    - Giannis
    - Doncic
    - Jokic

Realistically speaking, would you seriously take the current AD over any of those players?
